Hey all. Kinda struggling with openers/sustain. I’ve checked some resources which tells me the openers are situational. I’m def making a few mistakes I think… I found that I tend to double garrote the same target to favor max time, have difficulty with when to weave in an SBS. Any advice on more steady pressure openers or when to use SBS? Thanks!

Good way to ask your question. Giving us examples of what you are doing, and what your specific approach you want to achieve is great narrow down answers.
So dont bother double garroting the same dude. This isn't a raid.
You wanna either garrote 2 people for pressure. Or Garrote 2 casters for cc and pressure.
You dont need to weave in Sbs, remember SBS hits for almost as hard as an envenom. It's a very very very good buttons to press,
You'd rather press sbs than mutilate. Keep that in mind.

As for opener,
Garrote,rupture,MFD kidney, Blind healer, Shiv, echoing , envenom, sbs envenom. Vanish , sap healer.

Thats your opener assume u dont get a sap. If you do get a sap. Same shit. 🙂 But the dps is in more trouble.
Remember, SBS is more energy efficient and does much much much more damage than a multiate.
Think of it has a multiate replacement when you can, or as a ranged attack when they are out of range.

try Arterial Precision since melee are on top of you the whole game, DoT them both, Kidney the kill target on cooldown, you need to control positioning, kite them behind a pillar while maintaining LoS with your healer, try to draw their healer out of position so you can land CC on enemy healer and kill

if you overlap CDs with your healer it's an uphill battle

I'm so used to playing with team mates who communicate their CDs that I'm terrible at SS, I constantly overlap
