youre basically forced to leave the map youre on every ~3 months or so, so you have a very nomadic playstyle

and the ship is also quite limited in space

but ye, basically gotta play on a time limit on each map and also consider whats worth getting, and you just harvest the map, then fuck off again, its really cool

its basically just a much better caravan system

and you can get extenders to make bigger ships

they give 250 more tiles, up to 6 per ship, so the max size is 2000 tiles

and when you leave an area, the map is destroyed unless you plop down an anchor

but ye, the scenario is nice. you basically get hunted down by a mechanoid hive and they send shit endlessly until you leave the area, or destroy their mothership

so you have ~3-4 months before you gotta swap areas or get constant mechanoid raids, rinse repeat

i feel like a tyranid fleet, landing on a map to harvest its resources and biomass, then fucking off, not giving a shit how much pollution or carnage you leave behind

anomaly and odyssey definitely both change the way you play the game, but anomaly does it in a shit way, odyssey does it in a fun one (if you dont mind being forced to move around a lot. but if you dont, just start a regular playthrough and dont pick this scenario, and use the ship as an advanced caravan)

nothing in this DLC is groundbreaking if youve extensively modded the game before, but thats the case for all DLC

and the overlapping biomes, better caravan system with the ship, and landmarks etc. are all kinda neat

its kinda weird if its active in a "normal" playtrought

if you start it, it takes over your gameplay

with the vast majority of events now being anomaly events

also, these new beam weapons are fucking insane
