I think that teaser image was deliberately designed to be confusing, as a teaser.
Even though the boss is listed first, it seems too busy and dense of a design for a boss, so I figured it was a dragony mace dude

"it" referring to the silhouette in the teaser image from the roadmap (what you showed). "character being teased" referring to the arm, hand and white/black aura that we see after the player character enters the pure white dream. Sorry for any confusion.
