After a lot of practice I can beat him pretty consistently, but the spike in difficulty, especially at low difficulty levels, is too high. I feel like the fireballs should be more spaced out at low levels so it's easier in a way besides just having lower damage (which still kills you). I think the difficulty is fine in the last two modes, but the first two difficulties are a huge leap from the previous bosses.
#Final boss too hard

I agree on the fireballs. Too dense and shave off so much health. I had 20k+ shields and they got shredded instantly. It’s terrible to have a whole run go to 💩 over the fireball phase. Movement speed is a penalty and it just generally doesn’t seem well balanced. I’ve managed to beat it maybe every 1 out of 5 times on solo. It’s especially wild because with a good build you can face melt other bosses so going into a 4 phase fight where the fireballs are absolutely the worst is the worst feeling. I would honestly love to see the win rates and top memories and essences.
I got a lot more success with beating that fight by making sure I have a teleport or invulnerability for that fight, like Vile Strike, Blink, Burrow, etc. It's not great that you need those, but I've had a lot more success since I started hunting for them during my runs.
Yeah that’s not a bad idea and that has been how ive beaten it. But it also spurs me because that is a build/memory essence bias and it would feel better if all builds were viable not just some builds. But I hear you and I completely agree. I gave up dash for bis so I lose invuln dash frames.
I play this game to relax, yet i need to study how to defeat final boss, regardless of my build
We shouldn’t give away 1or2 of our ability slots just for that final boss fight!
u should be able to dodge through the fireballs w ur two dodges that are available on most characters. It's not too hard even with WASD dodge controls
Yeah, I can generally avoid the fireballs alright even without a teleport, but if somebody's playing on the lowest difficulty they probably aren't gunna be good enough to do it consistently. That's the real problem: the spike in difficulty between the normal bosses and the final boss on the lower difficulties.
Imo this is kind of fair
Pretty sure the "meta" is just to slam upgrades into 1 memory anyways, so you can afford to just take a utility 1
