Hello! It's a Steam VR version of Animal Company and is still VR only. You won't be able to use a console controller or keyboard, but you still use VR controllers.

spectator mode for steam vr would be cool for content creation

Agreed, right now it's still using the frog camera; there are adjustable quality settings now.

I hope they make it so the camera perspective also changes the desktop app view.

Steam has an entire system for VR headsets, most requiring a cable.
For Quest, you can use Meta Link and then open the SteamVR application.

You can use Steam Link for a wireless connection between the computer and your headset
