I feel this game's combat is pretty basic, and, in all honesty, boring. It mainly consists of melee weapons where you just spam hit, and 3 guns, each with severe cons.
THIS POST DOES NOT TALK ABOUT NEW WEAPONS, JUST CHANGING EXISTING ONES - IF THIS WERE TO BE IMPLEMENTED, MORE WEAPONS SHOULD BE ADDED
Damage
Melee
- The faster the melee weapon is swung, the more damage is dealt. More power = more damage. Doing many hits with little power would just disturb the monster, and possibly do no damage at all.
- Different items have different weights, but not based on player movement, rather hand movement. A baseball bat would be slightly harder to do quick and precise strikes than a stick, for example
- All melee items get damaged. All items would have a value, and each hit would take 1 - 3 damage points, based on how hard you hit the monster/s. A stick would remain the same with 10 damage points, but the, let's say, Pickaxe would have around 60 - 80.
- Depending on where you strike, depends on how much damage is dealt - see in ranged. It would be more or less the same system.
Ranged - Depending on where you shoot players / monsters, depends on how much damage is dealt: If shot in arms / legs , players / monsters would be slower and lose 25 health, aka 1/4 of a player's health. If shot in the chest, you lose 75 health, aka 3/4 of your health gone. This would make backpack weight affect you 25% more. If you are shot in the bang center of your head, instant death. The rest of your head would do 9/10 of your health.
