this would, theoretically, cause the item to corrupt and become unusable, or immediately delete itself upon triggering the nbt tag

for more context, the game would likely read the id of the item, see that it corresponds to absolutely nothing, and cause the item to either shift to an unrecogbizable mess or just default to an empty hand, effectively deleting the item

i personally feel that the former is a better solution as it causes no monetary loss, although the latter ensures that exploited items such as landmines are removed from the game (assuming they are modded, which most exploited/duped items are)
