Bassicaly, every 16 hours you add one research point to a 'gem bank'. If your afk for 32 hours you have two gems in your 'gem bank' so when you go minign you can get two gems. After you get two you won't be able to get any more till you add more to the gem bank

I litteraly got 6 points in one trip, there is a cave in second deep mines with a lot of purple crystals that I got 3 from, and then got another 3 in other places, I’m not seeing ur point
