Now a monster is a different story, you have to change the model, and if its also a problem the hitbox, either way its going to always be spider like no matter what they do

Okay my entire problem with a safe mode is it wouldn't be fair to other people with common phobias like the dark, heights, etc, now if the "safe mode" had different toggles like "arachnophobia safe mode" or "acrophobia (fear of hights) safe mode would be better, just calling it a safe mode in general could potentially make certain players think their phobias are included in the safe mode when they aren't

The game is based around dark and mysterious environments, and is advertised as such. Unlike the spider, a very large portion of the game would be effected greatly, would be more of a hassle, and would provide players with benefits that regular players would not have. I also feel like acrophobia could be paired with a vignette feature. Just make your screen black and get rid of wind noise until you're on the ground

Some people might have the monster off, if they change it then it won't be a spider anymore, so some people who never turned it off will be confused when people say "Aw man, I died by {Whatever it gets replaced with} and other people will think the person is lying or be very confused. "There's no {Whatever monster}. And even if people started calling it "The monster" it would still be even harder.

No pvp. I'm not saying it would be on at first but others who do have it on would confuse the new players.

an options menu is still a needed thing anyway. if they wanna add this, might as well add settings for other things as well. like making the snap turn setting an actual action on the computer and not just pressing the menu button on your controller(which you need to dive back into old release notes to even figure out)
