Bro the shotgun sucks really really sucks its too expensive and you get targetted when you have it additionally it costs way more to buy then just a grenade on a crossbow like the ONLY benefit to using it is
Larger clip size

You get the point killing people in this game is way too easy right now and cheap but someone who wants to do it with melee it just sucks
