In the meantime, you can manually restore your latest save by following these steps:

  1. Ensure the Steam Launcher is open.
  2. Press Win + R on your keyboard.
  3. In the small window that appears in the bottom left, paste this path and press Enter:
    %userprofile%/AppData/LocalLow/GameChanger Studio/1998 The Toll Keeper Story (Full)/Saves/
  4. In the folder that opens, find the folder named "Editor".
  5. Rename that folder to "Save 0".
  6. Relaunch the game.
