#Holding r key to restart WITHOUT MODS will flicker black instead of fading
127 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Idk it doesnt for me
it probably does
but its just a flicker
the mod thing is full pitch black until the next run starts
OP is just bad at describing the issue
so it sounds the same
Still didnt notice it
but maybe idk
its subtleness is kind of random
if you keep holding R you may notice it
most of the time, its barely noticeable
unlike the mod issue, which is VERY noticeable
now I wasn't talking about it GET OUT
Florians copy
Now I'm talking ab it in my thread to not talk about it in their thread
which is the good thing to do
sadly, you werent specific enough on the description
so people will mistake it for the other thread
Okie dokie
also, I dont know what "insta black" is
in reality what happens in vanilla, without mods, is that the fade out effect flickers....thats it
Holding r key to restart WITHOUT MODS will flicker black instead of fading
the main difference between the 2 issues is:
- This one happens without mods
- This one is only flickering instead of going full black
- This one only affects the fadeout effect while the other affects several semi-transparent things across the board
are they not related/caused by the same thing? it might be best to just group this thread with the other one and move the report there
I dont think they are necessarily related
they both stem from changes on the renderer tho
they added a new dll that may be messing shit up
that ESO thing or whatever it is
I didnt look that deep into it
so, if you go deep down, yes, both stem from changes on the rendering....but they do not necessarily get fixed in the same way
as the scope of the modding issue is far worse than this one
Now that makes them related, cause this problem occured on both mods and modeless users
ill keep this thread open as a seperate one since i trust your judgement JSG
Why, the problem is from the same source
just trying to reduce these threads where possible since we already have so many
no?
they are both rendering issues
They are both
in the same way that a crash on the basement and a crash on the dark room can both be gameplay issues
are they the same issue just because they stem from the same part of the engine?
no
just the fact that one only happens with mods on and the other happens regardless of mods being on gives a different enough setting for them to be separate
They came from it, the reason is the same it's just different effects, it's different cause mods being affected by it differently
It came from something right, at the same time
yes all issues come from the game isaac
does that mean that there is only 1 issue with the game?
are all bugs the same bug?
they all come from isaac after all
They got the same screen problem wich means that the problem is right from the whatever change that was made
no
they dont have the same screen problem
the mods issue affects a lot more than this one
this one only affects the fadeout on holding R
and not even in the same way the mod issue does
I'd suggest you to enable a mod with shaders
and see the differences
it is not the same issue
the mod issue affects:
- Fade out being COMPLETELY BLACK (this is the only similarity)
- The intro sequence
- The console transparency
- Some overall semi-transparent effects
Alright thanks for spending your time to explain it
now, thats not to say you couldnt create a single thread to cover both bugs
but the way these 2 are redacted, doesnt do that
if one redacted it like "Several issues regarding fade out and tranparency." and then proceded to list each and every issue I just mentioned
it could work as a single thread
the main reason why I feel like it would be pointless is because issues with mods are not prioritized at all
so those probablt are better in their own thread
if you want any chance of getting your vanilla issues fixed
in a timely manner
Now I understand thank you, Jsg the Florians Evil twin!
wtf does that even mean?
Also da rules is showing wrong locust info
🤡

footage of the bug + hardware information would be useful
ha, interesting
it does not show up in recorded footage
probably because of framerate
it does show up with higher framerate
it could also be caused by the blend mode shenanigans you found tho
but...maybe not
since it doesnt explain the flicker aspect of it
as for specs, the only factor, in theory, should be this:
but I have seen it reported on setups without an Nvidia card
so I dont think it's a factor
I feel its universal but, again, not as noticeable as the other issue
like, even in the video, you can see that the first R hold didnt cause the issue at all
you do see it on the obs video, right?
yeah i see it here
alright
but yea, I didnt notice it initially either
mainly because sometimes it takes a few attempts to show up
in that video I got lucky
no mods on your end, right?
alright
either way not gonna go any further digging today so i probably will continue tomorrow
it is def a rendering issue
but it doesnt seem to me thats just the wrong params on blend mode for this one
or at least not in the same way you detected for the other issue
yeah i also dont think its just some blendmode fuckery
but god it will be annoying to track down
because renderdoc frame captures are too slow for realtime
yea...the other one is easier because it's perma happening
and this problem is a one-frame thing
