I really need to say this: several times (a few times, more than enough) that I asked for help on the quick help channel, some people who answered were either:

  • mocking me, being snarky or sarcastic, or a bit disrespectful
  • making jokes and unserious answers
  • not really answering the question while telling me I don't understand the answer
  • insinuating I was incompetent
  • were being unnecessarily toxic for no reason

Those people did not really break any server rule by the way, but they really know how to bend those rules, just to gently blow off some steam and be mean to others.

This doesn't happen most of the time, but it already happen several times to me, that I think it should be said. I am generally sensitive to this topic, so I admit I might be biased. Generally the quick help channel is pretty good, but I still encounter those users that I think are problematic.

I don't mean to spit into the soup, but I think the quick help channel deserves to have additional rules when it comes to answers. Maybe making it "more professional", asking users to be kind, or maybe restrain from off-topic message that are not related to a question. I also sometimes see users using it as some casual chat, sometimes, which adds unnecessary noise.

I know moderation is difficult, but a few well worded rules might help a bit.

None of those behaviors seem aligned with the rules

All of what you listed breaks server rules. Mocking and being condescending are clearly listed under the not section, as well as giving unhelpful answers. Please report these cases. Either through right click > apps > report or with a #💌┃modmail ticket if you want to provide more context.

Disrespect in the help channels is one of the biggest no-gos here, no matter the experience level or how long they’ve been a member
