Nullsteps: Demo

Nullsteps is a platformer game where every level has 25 stages, none of them contain any amount of checkpoints, so if you die once... You go back to the first stage.

Features:
Normal Mode: Play the normal mode with normal difficulty, every level has 25 stages

Hardcore Mode: Play the hardcore mode for insane difficulty, every level has 50 stages

Speedrun Mode: All levels combined, complete them as soon as possible!

Cosmetics: Trails, Death effects, Player skins and much more!

Unique Levels: A single level will have 25 stages, but each one will have a new mechanic ready for you!

Demo Is now Available!
A full version of this game is planned to release on late 2026/early 2027, it will be available for mobile and PC platforms! (Will be released on Itch.io) Stay tuned on sneak peaks!

• Qol: Changed the physics of the game, adding acceleration, this makes it so one tap of the move button doesn't move you 1-2 tiles instantly
• Nerfed Stages: Because of the new physics of the game, some stages in level 1 are impossible, so stage 17, 20, and 21 are nerfed
• Bug Fixes: Fixed a bug where the game crashed when pressing restart while the fast menu option is enabled

• Speedrun Mode: Always trying to speedrun each level? Well look no further! All of the levels are combined into one for you to Speedrun! Dare the challenge?
• Speedrun Leaderboard: Of course a speedrun mode wouldn't be complete without a leaderboard. Compete with other players to the top!
• QoL: You can now see the current stage you are currently in! You can now see what levels you currently haven't unlocked
• Currency: You can now earn a quarter of the coins you're collected when you die! (Previously you weren't able to earn any coins when you die)
• Nerfs: Various stages from level 1 where nerfed
• Polish: New Animation when you completed a Level
• Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where the account system isn't working properly

Bad news for the development of nullsteps 🙏

school started, so I can only work on the game on the weekends, which takes a lot of time from my usual game dev schedule

But in the other news, here is what I've planned for the future of the game

Nullsteps Full Release is now being developed, with its official release data being on mid 2027, while im at it, here are some changes I made:

• Levels will no longer follow the 25 stage format, it will instead follow a 5 stage format, with more stages getting added the further you are in the game
• A Level Editor is now planned for the full game (as shown in the image above) so that you, the players can create your own levels and upload it to the game
• Levels will now only feature one mechanic for better level design
