#Add/Removing from a Tilemap/Terrain during runtime

I am rather new, and I'm having trouble finding the resources to something like this.

I am trying to make a system in which you can add and remove from a terrain during runtime because I need a form of mining system, I believe I can do the rest myself but the only part I'm really struggling on is finding anything involving actually adding/removing from this.

most importantly, I have a terrain tileset that sohuld preferably automatically update as well with this, but afaict, this may not be the easiest lol
