hey there. Im trying to make the ball go backwards only when it hits the paddle, because I have invisible static bodies outside of the screen, but now it seems to only register it getting hit for a second?

by that I mean, it'll go through the paddle, but it will change the y direction

I'm not sure I understand what the issue is.
Could you send a video to see what's going wrong ?

Try removing the is in group statement i dont think its necacary if this is the script for the ball

okay I got it mostly working, but now its not recognizing the staticbodies sometimes and not bouncing off them

I don't know if it's your case, but did you checked out if the collision layer of the ball are set to the layer where the paddle is in?

As well as the new staticbodies levels

i just checked, they're all on the same layer
