afaik skeleton3d is supposed to be used for a 3d model exported from some external program like blender
also, rigging in general is not easy. it is more streamlined in blender or maya, but still, is very hard. depending on your use case, you might not even need rigging.
I mean this is technically true. rigging is meant to allow animations to made more easily, but theoretically you could move every single part by hand and export that as an animation
