#Power Play 2.0 feedback: care packages

Care packages as rank reward are very useful and creates good alternative to resource farming, but care package window at station menu lacks UI/UX design. There are some troubles, from most uncomfortable for player to less:

  1. Window always send you back on top when you are opening package with material that you can’t collect and swaps sorting of packages from “from newest” to “from oldest”. That’s make claiming packages very uncomfortable, because players lost where they stopped opening.

2.Care packages don’t have any kind of marking. Without number of package in order player also can lost in opening them.

  1. Lack of possibility to collect all available materials. When players can’t collect everything because of material capacity, they want to pick at least available materials, but current care packages claiming system make them bored and give up in doing this.

  2. Lack of possibility to find a certain material. When players still can’t collect everything, they may try to find material that they need, but they don’t have search option for it, and need to scroll all care packages to find needed material. Ends same with point 3.

Here are my suggestions on how to improve each of the points:

  1. After unsuccessful claiming of whole package, don’t send player to the top of the list, fix sorting issue too.

  2. Use time-sorting ID’s from packages in UI, mark oldest as 1, and latest as N.

  3. Add button “Collect all available”. This button will check all packages from the oldest to newest, and collect money & materials from them that are possible to put in player material capacity.

  4. Add searching window. You can reuse material trader window for all ship materials and bartender window for on-foot components (assets). After clicking on material, window will show care packages with this materials.

Not to mention that once you have a lot of packages, the UI breaks and now it is impossible to claim anything...

Id be happy if you'd just toss it into one big care package that contains everything. When we claim we fill to whatever our reserves are and the remains stay in a big care box.

Can’t open Care Packages since Nov ‘24. Got 3k collecting dust. It’s been known for ages, but nobody cares. And for lvl 100+, that’s all there is anyway. 😑

Fwiw i put in a support ticket ~two weeks ago and got 700 care packages deleted so i can start collecting them again. Now being careful to empty out my inventory and visit material traders but it's time consuming lol

Just deleted? No compensation? That’s way beyond “we don’t care.” Absolutely ridiculous

Tbf they gave me the choice to wait for it to be fixed timeline, 'someday', or wipe it, i chose wipe it

I estimate i'll end up earning 700 more before it gets fixed 🙃

I would also add more about the localization curve in Russian.... where in the English version you collect the "papers" from Archer. and in Russian, sometimes from Zachary Hudson, sometimes from Patraeus, we don't see Archer from the word at all. Where the missions are translated incorrectly, which is why you can't complete it without changing the client, because the conditions are spelled out incorrectly.

I would prefer that everything is just put into one big care package. If we keep getting care packages, at least give me an option to destroy/convert to credits remaining items in a care package. The amount of Odyssey materials we get from the packages is insane, and having to run back and forth to a bartender every few packages to empty out your inventory just so you can run back to your ship to open a few more gets old really fast.

Just the possibility of destruction is enough so that the game does not fall if you suddenly accidentally enter this section. I have thousands of boxes not open 😂

sell them to market then like i did, recollected and repeat

althought i do think there a bug in there, if you collected to many

I believe it would be very useful to have them exist as a sort of, dare I say it, merit system? That you can then exchange for items that you want that might swap daily, or you can trade them in for combat or trade bonds, or for PP-agnostic commodities that might be hard to source. Keeping the option for engineering materials is good as well but for endgame players that are very much already capped on most material all the time it adds up quickly into the UI-bugged mess, so having the ability to trade those in for other things that won't clog up the limited UI assets would benefit.
