That's because those item boxes seem to have a rubber band mechanic built into them~ In other words, if you're in the lead, you're likely only getting speed shoes with the occasional shield here and there, whereas the further behind you are, the more likely you're gonna get an attack item from them~

I get why they would do that, but on the other hand, you're already a target because you're in the lead and because of this, you end up losing so many rings that it gets to a point where there can be no way to catch back up.

Sometimes u use air ring swipe and cyclone sometime u use normal swipe and cyclone and u even use unstoppable dash in ur most recent one. Which skill set do u think is the best rn? I kinda like the idea of using unstoppable dash in ring battle but idk if it’s versatile or universal enough for ring battle mode as a whole

Unstoppable Dash for movement and invincibility purposes. It's extremely good to get ahead. Air Ring Swipe is still something I'm experimenting with, but it's working out quite nicely! It's extremely good on Starlight Carnival and City Escape Ring Battle!

i still find air ring swipe very meh b/c of its long startup/cooldown, except for a few stages probably better sticking with cyclone dash. though its probably worth it now to switch to ring swipe/character specific absorb skill b.c of the shorter cooldown over cyclone.

I think Air Ring Swipe is worth using just for City Escape and Starlight Carnival alone. The difference it makes is pretty substantial - or can be. Unstoppable Dash and Air Ring Swipe are working out quite nicely for me, personally. 🙏

But yes, the long cooldown is definitely a downside to it!
