Making "character variants" skins instead of individual characters. I have some ideas below - please add some more!
Instead of including Nine or Miles as their own characters, make them skins for Tails. Instead of including all the different variants of metal sonic, make them unlockable skins for Metal. Scourge for Sonic, Eggman Nega for Robotnik - etc etc - add some more ideas in the comments!!
