We’ve recently made significant stability improvements, and one of the effects of these changes is that the simulation now adapts to lower frame rates.
If you are running at 30 FPS or higher, you will experience the simulation exactly as intended (with the fastest speed running at 5x). If performance drops below 30 FPS, the simulation will gradually slow down to maintain stability. At frame rates below 14 FPS, the fastest speed option will no longer have any effect.
If you encounter this behavior, please try adjusting your graphics settings. If GPU performance is the limiting factor, lowering the Render Scale — especially when playing on a 4K monitor — can significantly improve frame rate and overall experience.
