I'm trying to autocalibrate the bowden length on my BT. I am using lane 1 to do this and have already auto calibrated the length to the hub for this lane. When running the command the BT will trigger the hub then unload the spool and trigger the hub again then error out since it tries to set the length to -20.

What sensor are you using for tool start

Oh well then you have a rubber band around it right

tardy aurora
#

yeah i do but when running the. command the filament doesnt leave the hub

#

it just repeatedly loads and unloads it from the hub.

wind cedar

Well then I suspect your switches are backwards

tardy aurora
#

the weird thing is it was working last week when i was trying to calibrate the length again but timed out because how long the tube was

#

so im not sure what exactly changed since i havent moved anything

wind cedar
#

Only you can verify that it does t think it’s already expanded

tardy aurora
#

with the buffer fully compressed this is what the switches are reading. The expanded one should show empty right?

wind cedar
#

Yep, and if you move it off the switch?

tardy aurora
#

if i fully expand the TN then compressed shows empty and the expanded still shows detected. So its probably a dead switch then

wind cedar
#

Probably a bad wire

tardy aurora
#

alright ill check continuity then thank you! Also for it timing out due to the length being too long would I just change the max extrude distance?

wind cedar
#

Timing out? We don’t have a timeout condition in calibration
And if it gave you an error about length then it also told you how to allow it to be longer

tardy aurora
#

okay thanks

tardy aurora
#

update on this. one of the wires was broken so I resoldered it. Checked continuity after and it was fine but klipper still shows detected no matter if the TN is fully expanded or compressed

wind cedar
#

where you check continuity?

tardy aurora
#

At the switch itself and the connector

#

I also switched it to another connector on the afc lite and switched the pin in the config and it stayed the same

wind cedar
#

is it pinned correctly then?

tardy aurora
#

Yeah it’s pinned the same as the other switches. Next I’m going to test and see if other switches in that connector

tardy aurora
#

I just wanted to give an update. The issue was in fact a bad wire but on both switches. I misunderstood which switch did what in the firmware and thought only one was the issue. I greatly appreciate you guys being patient with me!

All solved then?

Yeah!
