#[SOLVED] - No Power on spoolers - specially on rewind
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
kit?
Do they spin freely by hand? No tight spots or drag or binding?
Yes they do - perfect, everything is smooth.
What did you mean with kit? I do everything by my selve only electronic and frame was bought, if you mean this 😉
Could you please provide video example of the spoolers moving?
That’s seems slow, how about a video turning by hand
Also, are you actually retracting filament? That scream is stepper stall, and the respoolers wont do anything if filament isn’t moving
I only test it with this command LANE_MOVE LANE=lane2 DISTANCE=-500. There was filament in the extruder. How can I test it else?
That is fine. A -500 move should move filament. Do you get that scream on all lanes?
Yes, the scream is on all lanes more or less
Solve that first. Reduce speed in AFC.cfg
Are you sure the extruders are spinning the correct direction?
That as well
yes, everything works with printing. The only thing is respooling on tool change
which speed to you mean
yes, correct
Then there’s no way that anything is working as expected
Sure, the filament is cutted correct, the change working from on tool to the other, only, like I wrote, the rewind doesn't work
But now I correct the speed
perhaps the run_current for the extruder is a bit to high. I worked with 0.85
In this video your stepper for this lane's extruder is absolutely stalled. This is why the n20 doesnt rewind. Its not capable of pulling the filament back. That is not what it's there for.
But how can I test this sequence. With a single unload in the AFC plugin? I'll try so
Perhaps here some errors in the config? I haven't this sound when I unload the filament. I'll do also a video for this so you will see what happen in this case

Here the video from unloading and what happened
No need to add since it's already defaulted to true and won't help with the long retracts
Also would remove pwm_value as this affects print assist and will more than likely cause you issues down the road. This value also does not affect the problem you are running into
Do you have any ideas what I can test?
are any of your tools loaded to the toolhead?
Which tools do you mean?
Lanes
Alle lanes loaded. I've really only the problem with the rewind process. Loading work. All extruders work forwards and backwards only the spoolers work not backwards
Let's be clear about one thing: the spoolers are only responsible for rewinding the spool itself, not for actually moving the filament. It sounds to me like you might actually have a problem with the filament unload sequence/settings instead of an issue with the spoolers. If the spoolers themselves were an issue, you would end up with a lot of unwound filament at the end of an unload.
and this is why I should look at the latest video and not just comment after watching an earlier one. 🤦♂️
Yes, the problem is the unwound filament. The unload sequence work fine. Perhaps someone have the config who works. Do i can compare the settings. I know dome things like bowden length a different but the rest should be the same. I use the afc lite board and everything like the BOM list
the stock config works for the vast majority.
Try removing the spooler from the tray and see if it spins better
Good morning! I just checked out the plug of the motor with a multimeter and recognized that there are only 1.2 V when spool should work. Has anyone an idea what the problem is?
I solved it. I made a new installation and flash also the board new. Now it seams like it work.
Thank you for all the help and ideas.
