Is there a way to do this, I have a big printer, it's humid here and everything is in dryboxes so there's more drag o nthe filamant than I'd like. I'd just like to run a secondary extruder, a clockwork 1, m4 or something else from my spares bin mounted to the frame. I have spare boards or spare stepper drivers and endstops on the main mcu of my printer as required. What's the minimum I need to do here?

You can use what we call a “direct” hub. Basically set up as an assist secondary extruder. All you need is a sensor before and after your extruder plus the TN inline after the extruder
thats basically how Nightowl work right
If you were to use a single lane. With more than 1 lane you still use a hub with a switch
A sensor before and after my toolhead extruder, or before and after my assist extruder or both?
Before and after the assist extruder. the AFC software will use them to trigger the assist extruder to start pulling filament and then to load it to the toolhead
Ok, that means some new parts, but nothing i don't have sources for. Thanks.
