#[SOLVED] not sure what im missing but slots 2 and 3 wont trigger
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
So when trying to load a spool your prep triggers are not activating your extruder motors?
correct only slot 1 and 4 are triggering
i know the motors are activation on start up
When you insert do you see the switches activate in your gui and do you get an error message printing out on the console?
okay so i swaped the switches on the board and they work so its not a hard ware issue other than it could be the main board
but yes im getting a trigger error
cannot load lane 2 load sensor triggered
Ah, check to make sure you don't have anything in the sensor that's in your extruder. Something is triggering your load sensor
just got rid of the ^ on load in cfg for slot 2 got the motor to trigger gunna try slot 3 now
okay that worked another thing im wondering how do tell klipper to load a filliment
try adding ^! infront for both prep and load sensors
that worked
hmm ok, now does it still detect filament when the sensor is triggered?
which batch?
yeah I think the sensor is not triggering correctly with the !
but you need to keep the pull up ^ in
if i keep the ^ it wont trigger
LANE_MOVE LANE=lane2 DISTANCE=-400
So the sock template is for the LDO kit, if its triggered with the pull-up then it makes me feel like something else is wrong
when you swapped the connectors, which lane did you swap it to?
what happens if you swap the load?
yeah something is triggering the switch, do you have a meter? Probably a good idea to manually ohm out the sensor and make sure its changing when filament is inserted
bot sure if this will make a diffeence but do i need the jump on the board
what do you mean?
theres a 120 OHM jumper spot on the board next to the cam port
no looks like you are using USB, so thats not needed
ok
I think manually checking the switch to verify its good would be the next step
did that its fine \
the load and prep switch work fine on slots 1 and 4 just not 2 and 3
so you can try remove the ^ again, but instead of loading it just remove the PTFE on the rear of the extruder and stick filament in and see if its detected in your gui
yeah still not detecting it
load is set to turtle_1:EXT2
thats right
failed to load at trigger which triggere
ok a couple of things what happens if you move lane2 load to this free spot where prep text is at
move it there or check that its not there
and then for load in lane2 section put this
load: ^Turtle_1:SW6
restart and see what your sensor report in gui
load since thats where the problem is at
ok when you swapped the switches earlier what exactly did you do
i took load 2 and put it in prep 5
when you did the swap here #1363702573143425126 message which sensors(prep/load) did you swap?
i swaped prep and and 2 to see if it was the switch that was broken
ok, so instead of messing with the prep sensors can you ohm out the load sensor to verify its actually working outside of connecting it to the board
yeah sounds like a switch problem to me. Also don't forget to put back the proper pin for lane2 load: ^Turtle_1:EXT2
oh i dident do that
what happens when you remove the switch fully from your lane 2 extruder
i put load 1 back and left load 2 out
nothing happens when i leave load 2 out
weired thing is when i swaped load 1 and 2 slot 2 motors kicked in and thats without changeing the klipper settings
yeah that makes sense, since lane 1 switch is working properly. It would still fail to load though
wouldent switching the load make trigger a differnt slots motor
no
ok if you fully remove lane 2 sensor from the extruder and look at your filament switch sensors, does it show detected when you manually trigger the switch? make sure you connect it back to the proper lane 2 connector
when i have load as ^! and get the failed to load check filliment trigger it loads enough filliment to go past the 4 way hub
how ever prep is detected but not load
yeah dont add ! back
please remove the sensor fully and manually see if it shows detected in your gui
what happens if you remove the switch fully from your lane 2 extruder, like remove it from the plastic part
took the switch out its crap wiring
got to re soder it
as far as i can tell for slot 2 havent looked at slot 3 year
so it was hardware
ok good in a way
thanks for going thrugh this with me it was bad soder joints on them switches
is there a macro for loading filliment into tool head
Just using the T# commands depending on which lane you want loaded. Note that tool commands start at 0 not 1
No problem, glad you can move forwards now
Uncheck virtual bypass, I saw it was checked last night
okay also have another problem
lane 3 this time
so i can get the load switch to activate
but now prep 3 wont trigger it stays empty
i flip the switch and the motors start moving and gabs the filliment but it keeps pushing it past the buff
i mean past the main 4 way hub
i just resodered the load switch does wire orientation matter
i see it triggering
So sounds like your prep switch is working, if it was not the motors would not activate. Sounds more like your load sensor not detecting anything
As long as they are soldered to the outside pins then you should be fine
they are
when i load filliment prep switch triggers the motor but stays empty how ever when i do this load switchs to detected
Is the prep sensor loose underneath which could cause it to push back and not trigger
Move out of range: -1.000 -1.000 10.000 [52.000] i m getting this error when i try loading filliment. I tell like slot to to load in toolhead gets to toolhead then error shows up. i give extrude command and i see filiment come out
Seems like values in AFC_macro_vars.cfg file have not been updated with the correct values for your printer. Have you also going through the initial startup guide?
I'm lost on the initial start up guide
What are you lost with?
im not sure what to do next start up guide isent as detailed as i would like it to be
ive gone through the inital start upguide but it doesnt have want im looking for
like theres no guide on setting up the cutting tool in klipper
right now my tool head homes at the center of the bed
Armored Turtle Project Documentation
This page tells you what each macro variable does and how to set them. The printer homing to the center of the machine isn’t something AFC would affect
does this also need to be in my printer.cfg
No, this should be included with the entire AFC include
The instructions outline everything that needs changed. Every printer is different so there’s no way to say “here’s the values you should always use”
on im confused
variable pin loc xy is saying its xy coordiantes of depressor pinm
but instreuctions says its something eles
where does it say something else
those are different variables
they are not hte sam ething
if you for example have the cutting arm just touching the pin at say 20, 300
then setting pin park dist to 6 means that when it moves to do the cut, it will go to 26, 300 first.
this gives it a safety clearance to approach as well as gives it a bit of space to accelerate o get to target speed for the cut.
variable cut move dist should it be 8.0 or 8.5
also is there a macro for the ams box turtle fan control cause its blasting full throttle all the time
that 100% depends on your toolhead and cutter arm
and no there is not, just unplug it
it was a free add-on, its straight to 5V power, and someone accidentally spec'd a high rpm fan
okay is there a file for a poop bucket for the voron 2.4

never mind foudn it
okay im not sure if ill do a poop yet
got this error
cut move distance is 8.0
... did you set the XY location?
ok, but you can't go to -1 according to your cfg
okay i changed it to 6.5 and that work i heard the filliment cut
i did bt tool unload and nothing happend tool head is at temp
is it loaded?
what does AFC_status get you? screen shot this please
looks like it dident cut it completely
what is your pin park loc xy
7,350
then you can't do 7 - 8 and get -1 and be within your movable print area...
i chancged it to 8,350 abd ctut move to 8 i think that worked
did a t0 load got this error
your park location is probably set to -1, -1
you need to go through and set proper values for everything this is documented on the guide
all under macro vars.cfg
look for -1, -1
those values are defaults and will not work.
found variable park loc xy where should this be next to nozzle wipe or purge bucket
wherever you want hte toolhead to be while the filament is unloaded/loaded
trying to bt change tool getting this error
i have cut setting
purge location set
and park setr
The software thinks your hub sensor is triggered, check your hub to see if a lanes filament is still within the hub or see of filament broke off and is still stuck triggering the hub switch
still getting the load error
all slots have filliment loaded in i can do t0 command
filliment loads extruders parks and kicks filliment and does nozzle wipe but when i do bt change tool to go to slot 2 its says lane 2 hub not clean when trying to load
what if you just use T1
Can you upload your AFC.log please, upload them all as well
not your config but your log files, same place where you find your klippy log
Machine-> Click on logs in the drop down
well I was hoping for a log that also had the T0 load sequence in it as well, there should be 5 total logs. Maybe one of them has the load sequence it in.
ok so i got it to almost work got it to swtich from slot 1 to 2
2 to 3
but failing to go to 4
i think slot 4 needs to be calibrated
fo you have the command for that
AFC_CALIBRATION
print start macro this is what i have now
should i just delete that and replace it with this
or add it
for some reason when i try to calibrat lane 4 it pushes the filliment the wrong way
Remove the ! on the dir_pin under lane 4 in Turtle_1 cfg then
got everything to work how to i get the box turtle serial
#serial-info
