Sometimes I get this on Lane 2 or Lane 3 but it doesn't happen everytime. I just have to reload the spool for that lane and resume the print and it works again. Would be nice if I didn't have to babysit while printing. It just seems to be pulling the filament back a bit much sometimes. My Question is what setting would I change to not pull back so far that it unloads from the BT?

Have you calibrated the length of the lanes? Using the auto calibration?
And could you upload either your configuration files or klippy.log (which also contains the config)?
I have run AFC_CALIBRATION again to check and it changed the values some and now lane 3 works every time however lane 2 still messes up now and then. As I said it doesn't happen every time. I will upload my config file as soon as I get home. I do have another question where can you manually edit to change the number that comes up when you do the AFC_CALIBRATION. I see where you can change the length tp the hub but not to the hotend? I would like to manually edit that number to troubleshoot
Make sure your tool_stn_unload value is not to large, if it causes the filament to retract way beyond your toolhead sensor/extruder gears then I can cause problems you are seeing
Thanks I will check that
Damn. I just came here to write something like that, but you were faster 😄
Also make sure that the configured bowden length is correct. If it's too long, same result.
There are two relevant values:
dist_hubin[AFC_stepper]. That's the distance between extruder and hub.afc_bowden_lengthin[AFC_hub]. That's the distance between hub and the toolhead filament sensor.
afc_bowden_length ideally is set so that the long, fast move brings the filament about 10-15 mm before the toolhead filament sensor, where the slow, short moves will then continues.
I wouldn't set it longer so that there's some safety margin before it slams into the toolhead.
I am having the exact same issue. If I've run the calibration for the lanes and the bowden and it still happens, which direction should I go in manually adjusting those values. Should dist_hub be shorter? Are there other factors I should be looking at. I've adjusted tool_station (shorter) already, and that didn't seem to have any impact.
try reducing tool_stn_unload
I've done that. I've reduced it about 20mm at this point.
you may need more...
what are you hotend/extruder?
what are your settings?
what version of afc?
I changed this setting afc_bowdwn_length by 10mm and the problem seems to be fixed! Thanks so much for all the help. It's working like a dream..
Nice if this is solved, please update your title with solved in it
