#Delta Turtle [BBT-06]
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
Happen to have a Orca profile for this thing btw?
Is this what you want?
Will give it a try in a few. Just got this thing setup
Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet
You are going to go into the cfg
Change the mesh size to 21 or 25
Re do the delta calibrate, and then mesh it
Wich will take an hour
Then
You are going to go brrrrrrrrrr
25? I didn’t do that I don’t think…..
like change the roube_probe_count? [bed_mesh] speed: 50 horizontal_move_z: 23 #This value is related to the lift height of the nozzle during bed_mesh mesh_radius: 148 mesh_origin: 0,0 round_probe_count: 7 # 7*7 algorithm: bicubic
Sorry for hijacking your channel @hearty viper but this seems to be where are the Delta stuff is at 🙂
round_probe_count: 21 # 21x21
It’s a delta
You want them
You only have to do it any time you take the arms off
Wich should be every weekend people
Why?
You SHOULD grease the ball cups once a week
If you want it to be head ache free long term
oh, luckily mine hasn't been used enough to warrant that likely lol
but I'll remember that
lol for real
Glenn either been working too much, or hardcore into designing that tool head
Figure out how I can put this on there
I been thinking about it......but also been thinking about a setup with the PZ Probe to make a better tap solution lol
the closer you can get the test probe to the nozzle the better on a delta
so making the nozzle the test probe would be most ideal haha.
but chube is very cool.... I wonder what all the metal weights compared to our stock stuff though
Have a custom effector plate CNCd
yeah maybe lol
I was on the verge of getting shitcanned this week. Had to focus! Aaaaaaaaaaand, still doing a little design work! Lol.
Oh are those pla?
The test body was as I was getting everything prototyped.
looks chonky
It’s compact. But I wanted enough width to be able to cover the control board.
Very little room for the filament cutter mechanism though. Which was the whole main point of building this.
yeah
are you going to be able to fit it still? Or have you just not worked that out yet?
It’s there already. Just have interference from the fan on one side. You know what would fix that?????? CPAP! 😂
true lol
Ended up with a fully functional and smooth loading toolhead, but I didn't care for the design. That and the cutter were not in a functional spot. So been working all day on a full redesign. Limiting it down to 1 filament sensor before the extruder. Extruder is moving up in this build closer to the top, with the stepper moving above the gear. It will not be as fat, and elongated out quite a bit.
New design in. Needs a top half shroud with logo and lighting. I'm at 402 on the weight. Need to get this on the machine and tuned, to see how well things work. Vendetta 2.0
Knomi will have a printed insert in front of the fan on the lower. Room is left for it now. And the upper will just enclose off the extruder and tie in the shape. With LED's of course. Lol. That new filament switch is sooooo smooth! I can hear it, but you don't feel any resistance.
yeah it's a really nice design
Only 20 grams over stock from our weigh in before. I was expecting quite a bit more.
I should be getting a buttload of ASA today. Ambrosia.
Small independent non-3d printer employed old man. So like 6 rolls! 🤣 Not your level of buttload!!!!
(it is SO NICE not having to stress about black filament again)
My first time trying ambrosia. So I figured I'd give it a go.
It's decent...most of the time lol
the CF-ABS and Dolos has been incredibly wet......
err PC-ABS
something like that
what was your github? I must of closed it on accident lol
I gotta figure it out though. When I go to commit from the desktop, it errors out.
I ended up finding it a few minutes ago when I was going through all my tabs and closing stuff lol
Should I start uploading some of the printhead to printables or wait?
can if you want, you probably should figure out github though too lol
I can probably print them this weekend, hopefully all my box turtle stuff will be done then
Yeah, I think I am trying to commit too much bandwidth at once.
maybe, the nice thing about github is you can just sync the folder and it'll put in the changes so you don't have the manage files the same way and what not
@hearty viper did you get the face and stuff printed?
Got everything done again. I need to design some reinforcements on the cutter arm. But the main body is good to go. The arm hinges off of the front lower shroud. The force snapped the thin part it was on. But the mechanics are now solid for the cutter. The leverage of the fulcrum!!!! Lol. It will be one screw to remove the arm and access the cutter button for blade replacements.
That I have not done. But will be coming off the left extrusion from the front. A plate with and arm extending out parallel to the back.
The cut will be with a X move to the poker. Depending on how high or low you want to mount it.
yeah it's fine was just curious lol
And it puts it so that the can cable and usb clear the stepper.
No, It's the same width as the stock.
More height to it though. But not alot. Only one filament sensor helps.
I mean you have lots of height extra lol
Question on the camera. That would need to run back to the pi over USB right?
Oh nice. Did you shoot me a link for that one? The cable?
let me grab it
So you need to wire it to a usb connector?
probably, I think they have them with little screw terminals
Gonna look at this EBB42 board specs. I wonder if it can be wired to the board and run back over can?
idk that'd be sweet....but I didn't think it could
Worth a look I guess! How lit up should the printhead be at the nozzle?
I'd show you on my voron lol....
but it can't run the LED's right now
you want light shining right at the nozzle though I think
the stealthburner uses 2 RGBW leds aiming right at the nozzle
I've worked a led into the front shroud under the effector plate to light it up from the front. But don't know if I should go for like Christmas Vacation lit up! Lol.
well there is a version of the camera you can get that has 2 LED's sticking out the sides
should be there in the cad files I imagine
Gotcha.
I figured that 3D0 cable would be good enough cause it's still pretty thin and the one end needs to be crimped anyways for the camera board
Oh, It's a crimp at the camera. Nice. Ok. Might be able to figure something out.
yeah the little PCB has a connector on it for USB, it comes with a cable normally but we can technically order it without the cable lol
cause it's al la carte you pick the parts you need
The new toolhead and accessories for the V400.
Ugh I have enough projects now your adding more
I don't know what @worldly holly meant by he hopes this can bring his back to life. Did something go wrong with the stock setup?
he has 2. one that is stock and one that he has built up for speed. I think hes talking about the speed one
Ohhhhhh. Makes sense. Only a PID tune on this so far and works great right out the box. But I will get into settings a bit more after my spare is printed.
awesome! its looks bad ass
Hell yeah. lol.
i dig the logo too
I let AI do most of that design work. Lol.
Hey its a great tool is how I see it
I pushed the other so hard it sheared the bolts from the effector…
The extruder/heatsink.
need a new effector pretty much
The one that’s still good was my work horse until I got the micron, now it’s a dedicated TPU machine
Mass production complete. The only thing needed when switching to the backup is a swap of the UUID and a z-offset swap.
Having too much fun with the new label maker. lol.
Those look nice
sometimes....the labels make it hard to shove all into the tool lol.
Lol. Just found that out!!!!🤣
lol
Whoa what’s up?
Totally smoked a new EBB42, but everythings good now! Lol. Flames shot out that bitch!
👀
Back on the amazon list to grab one more. Lol.
what happened?
I think a capacitor was pushed loose or something. I just know flames started shooting out the back of the board!
wow
Yeah scary! Everything is fine with the rest of the system, thank god! Just need a new EBB42 for one of the toolheads. The other one is fine though.
Final weigh in. A little heavy, but not too bad.
Box of galaxy black for the new build............. is this supposed to be in the part? Lol.
Support pop it out
Yeah, just figured it hadn't been asked enough! Lol.
Like the galaxy black I got a roll for my next one actually
The new toolhead????
I attached a zip file in this thread. Just scroll up to VendettaV3
I can't get things to load to my Github.
hmm
I think I need to pay for more. It time out errors on me. I'm a newbie to Github.
yeah it's been forever since i set stuff to upload on there
you just use voron settings?
Here's the metallics that are going to be the accent gears on the new turtle.
Yeah, the standard 4,4,4 24% infill.
Hopefully I will have a half assed guide ready by the time you assemble something. Took some photos to try and clarify some stuff.
24% that's an odd one lol. Voron is 5/5/5 40%
Ehhhh close enough. Lol.
Yeah, should be. And have supports where needed.
yeah I see on the main body there's a big support
your accent things are a bit weird......some of the folders have (a) and then some of the files do to
Yeah. I was just gonna label the parts, but then I threw them in folders to try and organize a little better. Accent or no, is up to you for sure. Just what I came up with.
lol ok
Dude galaxy black prints look sooo good
Disassemble to this point here. This is the shroud assembly.
Here's the body and cutter arm. 2 small bearings.
does this point at the nozzle? Probably could widen it a bit to fit the nozzle cam with the 2 LED cable lol
although would still have to make a spot for the DSP board
Yeah. I don't know if the heat block is in the way of the very tip of the nozzle though.
oh ok
I haven't put eyes on this stuff yet so can't say much lol
gonna attempt to print a couple of the parts here, we'll see what happens. Waiting for my fabreeko order for my new build plate
Might be room at the rear?
looks so much smaller when you're holding it lol
you could also extend that nose out a bit more probably so it hangs down lower but yeah not sure
Oh, almost forgot. 35mm capricorn PTFE tube connects the body to the metal heatsink.
Do you think the Steampunk turtle is too much? Lol.
Nah!
that's a turtle?
Yeah man! Lol
Ok. No magic fire shooting out the back of this one! Let’s hope!
aww but the smoke wants out
Oh you sexy sexy beast!!!! Lol.
i think it winked at me
It's not modest!
First load from BT with a 1 layer circle to set my z offset. I hope I didn't forget any parts when assembling. 🤔
Now you need to write a custom firmware for Knomi to make it cooler
Shit, now I gotta learn to code????? Lol. I'm an old ass construction worker!
lol
I didn't know you worked construction
I'm not all that young either, I wish I knew how to code, but I'll look around and see what's out there lol
Ramping it up to make it go Brrrrrrrrrrrrr. @worldly holly would be proud! Lol.
I printed some of the parts, but this beds gotten so bad that it's lifting while holding onto the PEI lol
so it's just making more bubbles
I just got a new plate for this one. Smooth on one side and textured on the other. Amazon purchase.
ASA will not come off this thing until it cools. It's super stuck.
yeah
just wonder how long it lasts
apparently the big problem with a lot of these plates is they use 3M adhesive which is not rated for 100c+ temps
Every print lately has been at 100c. So I will see.
yeah as we usually do 🙂
Same…
Looks sharpc
Alright. This Beta build has been decommissioned in preparation for a new build. Too many old parts, and PLA-CF on top of that. Nothing broken to this point, but I would just like for the parts to be of the new design. Probably get a new one enclosure ready. Sealing off the top of the V400 for better chamber temps too.
So PLA-CF still going strong then on the motor plates?
Appears to be fine!
The only real marks are where the mounting screws dug in a bit. But the motor was not loose at all.
No shims aye
Shims? For where? I could have used a washer, but wanted it to dig into place once it was set.
Right, nah I though in the cad there was one where it digged in the plastic
Oh, not sure. I had to re-print these so many times. Because parts were changing daily on the beta. Lol. So I'm sure this was the final version of the beta build. That had to be a few months back now, right? We've been doing this for a hot minute. 2025 will be the year I jump into my first printer build of a 2.4
Starting the re-make of BBT-06.
Dang your designs are coming out nice!!!!
accel
Whaaa love that toolhead ! I was searching one for my V400, found my inspiration haha
Do you have a short video on how the cutter is enabled?
The cutting arm engages a mount on the delta arm by moving all the way to the left.
Any print area or travel loss?
Yeah. You can spin the button on a single color print so it is out of the way and not really loose print area. But most of my multi color prints I won’t put past the 100mm mark on the left in Orca. Right, front, and back, are all usable. @sullen prairie
The little arm mount is on my GitHub too. You can grab and modify if it’s easier.
