Assuming you have fast enough storage and the right algorithm, compressing a backup can be pretty CPU intensive

You do know if its apart of the CPU allocation you when you make that server? like the image show

You shouldn't really be getting lag from a backup to the point where it's noticable

You have bad startup flags, and your provider is suffering the consequences of it

But it shouldn’t affect your perfromance much

Btw I don’t think backups are the issue here

You’re just getting bad performance

And it also looks like you have a LOT of chunks loaded

Yea we have a few players going around exploring and such. We've turned off chunkloading so it shouldn't be an issue
