https://pterodactyl.io/tutorials/creating_ssl_certificates.htmltrying to renew but am so lost
create for namescheap
Ur not using root to run the commands.
Either use sudo, or login as the root user "sudo su"
k
once in root which is best to use
and do i create it for the panel or node or just the example.com
You are expected to understand how to read documentation to use this Panel. We have spent many hours detailing how to install or upgrade our software. Please, take some time and read rather than copy and pasting and then complaining when things do not work.
If you expect to be able to install this with no understanding of basic linux system administration you should stop and turn around now
certbot certonly --nginx -d pugminespiratefinds.com
response i got
for both panel and node
my thinking is I have to remove/var/log/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.log
could you tell me what am doing wrong
I can't go into deeper troubleshooting, the hint it gives you is a good place to start.
Common issue, stop ur webserver (nginx) and then rerun the certbot command, but the standalone variant.
how does 1 stop ptero?
You stop nginx as you would stop any process..
doing so, will thisa ffect the game server am running
No, restarting your webserver won't affect running containers
I have found the following for: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1348362787998535680/1348399498996748349/image.png?ex=67cf5264&is=67ce00e4&hm=d44f930a95709333f30c36c0688a1cf07b89e89be7a4a2737103dc1996b8ba40&
@sly stratus; Type sudo nginx -t | nc pteropaste.com 99 or sudo systemctl status nginx to find out more more information.
So you stopped it.. and then immediately tried to restart it?

Omg mate.. u really are absolutely clueless aren't you?

i said that hours ago
I had help from start to finish on here when I started
step by step
Then we can't help you here..
this is where I got the help
I think i remember you, yes.
Go to the docs, read the SSL section, read the comment above the standalone command...
mizzy or someone helped
Yeah, that was hours of handholding, that is not something we can really do/ condone
i supported the cause afterwards
I suggest learning the basics, before attempting any of this.. I already told you everything you need to solve this issue.
Well I do not know where to start or begin as the process is screwed up. and more so for miss understanding your request
cant redo, as errors, cant restart as errors
thanks
i did follow the site, and then follow certbot site
And all of that because you lack fundamental required knowledge.. that is the exact reason why we dont do handholding/support third party installs.. as installing pterodactyl is 1 thing, maintaining it is another, if you can't follow a basic instruction, then what do you expect us to do?
niether
step by step i did
but errors
is fine, i have no clue what broke or where
now worried i will loose everything
I will repeat what I said you had to do, once more, look carefully;
-
stop webserver
-
get certificate with standalone command
-
start webserver
It's like magic.
stopped
certbot -d node.pugminespiratefinds.com --manual --preferred-challenges dns
yes?
Mate please.. just use the standalone command.
certbot certonly --standalone -d example.com
certbot certonly --standalone -d node.pugminespiratefinds.com
and one for panel.pugminespiratefinds.com
alittle losy trying
or link the page
please
No.. it's the same docs u should have used before.
i am on tehre but there are a few ssl pages
and trying not to screw this up anymore
why are you so angry. am just asking for help
.
ty
Because you are absolutely clueless, and seem to treat me/us like your personal sys devs.
i did so much today, trying, and it feels like I made so many mistakes
i dont want to screw it up more
After this i highly suggest you take some time to learn the basics of linux/networking etc
We can't continue helping you like this.. that is not anyone being "angry" it's just how it is.
did exactly and here is a repeated error.
My ssl expired today and it was all working before then, so trying to redo and its breaking
Then it's time to troubleshoot 🙂

going to names cheap to check the wording
Gives a good hint on where to start looking.
hostname maybe misstyped and firewall is already good
Again, we can't help you if you lack a basic understanding of your system/how to maintain it.
ports still on machine, still here
am trying to follow a log of what I did and am doing sorry
Allowed
Both node and panel have certs
thanks
they log but red errors
prob delayed
You still should either take time to learn the basics, or hire a sysdev to help you out from now on.. we can only offer support when the person has the fundamental basic knowledge that is required to install and maintain pterodactyl

@sly stratus; It looks like your browser is unable to reach the Wings.
Make sure that your wings are running using systemctl status wings and that your Wings ports (by default 8080/2022) are open in your firewall or router. This website can check your ports https://dnschecker.org/port-scanner.php
Browser console errors can also provide additional debugging information. More troubleshooting steps can be found at https://pterodactyl.io/panel/1.0/troubleshooting.html#cannot-connect-to-server-errors
Should the panel and wings be located on the same network, you might experience NAT reflection issues. In that case, type .nat for more information.

So We're having some trouble connecting to your server, please wait...
ports all updated,
no more ssl error.
and I was wondering do i have to change or edit something in the Pterodactyl config?
