#Minecraft Forge and Server Memory Usage

the ram usage isn't that out of the ordinary. Do you have mods installed? Also what cpu do you have?
It does have mods but its quote literally just about 3 mods that are really game changing otherwise its server side mods.
I had this same exact server running outside Ptero just fine. Started normally,
CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1245v5 - 4c/8t - 3.5 GHz/3.9 GHz
well server side mods would likely be the mods to cause performance issues to your server. But the slow startup really shouldn't be a ptero problem. Did you pin any threads / set a limit to the CPU?
I have the CPU set to 200% im assuming thats what 2 Threads?
yeah
On startup since its MC it uses all of it obviously but idling its fine it gets to about 20% idle
im just unsure how to diagnose this or check for what is causing the server to take so long to load
Its a basic Pixelmon server it doesnt even have 20 mods in it
Yeah I'm not really certain. Do you run any other servers through ptero? Is this the only game server that seems to have this problem?
I have a few others setup 1 of them is suppose to be a Dev version of the current forge server and then a normal Paper MC server let me try and spin up a blank forge server
Also i'm a bit confused about the Server Startup how it mentions renaming the Server.jar?
Well for forge there's the installer jar which installs the actual forge server jar. And the panel only executes the jar named server.jar
Regular MC Paper server took 18seconds no plugins nothing (world was already generated)
just waiting on the forge server to start now, its at 1 minute
its just hanging here
it might be worth asking in #egg-help try to provide as much detail possible there
Alright wasn't really sure where to put this, should i make a thread there because I think I asked about this last night but got no support due to everyone else asking for help
there shouldn't be a need for a thread. Sometimes problems just get washed out by other peoples problems or no one is really sure what your issue is.
Yea i figured, alright I appreciate you trying to help! I'll head over there and ask
I guess i'll leave this up for a bit before deleting it incase anything else comes up
not a terrible idea
mc 1.16.5 will run better on java 11 then 8
