In addition to allocating the port in your panel you need to open each port in your firewall. Sometimes opening a port in a firewall doesn't work if using UFW, so verifying with a site like that rules out the firewall as a cause.

Please explain the issue you're experiencing in as much detail as possible. Preferably with error messages in a text format or paste link to logs. Nobody can assist you without information that helps to understand the issue. Help us help you. Messages such as "doesn't work" or "i need help" will most likely be ignored.

#

can I just turn firewall off?

#

wait nevermind, I enabled firewall and allowed the port 25565 which is what im using for the server and it still does not work

well, docker alraedy handles the firewall by default so i dont think thats the issue. what ip did you use for your allocation? if you used smth like 127.0.0.1 then it wont work as that would mean that the server can only be accessed via 172.18.0.1 (and that is IF you set the rules for it)

Wait are you trying to use the panel internally or make a server others can also connect to?

rustic crescent
#

I am trying to make a server so that me and all my friends can join

brittle axle
#

So is that your public ip?

rustic crescent
#

yeah

brittle axle
#

Is the machine self installed on your home network?

rustic crescent
#

yes

brittle axle
#

Did you allow ports through your router

rustic crescent
#

yes

brittle axle
#

Which ports did you allow?

#

And have you verified if they need to be udp or tcp

rustic crescent
#

I opened port 8080, 2022, 80, and 25565

#

I think i did the udp and tcp right

#

oh

#

so I got it working??

#

I connected using my public ip, not the ip that the panel has
