could there be two modes for the game, one single player and the other multiplayer, and the multiplayer mode would have bigger caves and or longer mineshafts and an increase of enemies to balance it out and have two players controlling the same units.
or have one mineshaft per player and have the caves/underground be connected but above ground would have a wall separating the cores?
i don't expect this to be implemented but it'll be nice to have :)

What do you think about having multiplayer be a bit of head to head, both rushing to 200m lets say with the 3 "upgrade" abilities being replaced with minerals that are used to upgrade/modify the waves sent to the other player. That way its either whoever makes it to 200m first or who knocks out the other first wins.
I like the idea about having two separate platforms because the way i thought it would work would be each player has half the platform but your idea could work better. Either way how would the mine to next level work? vote or once triggered by someone it happens regardless? Third option being once one person votes to start it sets a 3-5 day timer that will mine to next level but can be instant if other player also votes to mine
i really like youre voting system and i also really enjoy youre bloons td 1v1 style of multiplayer, thanks for the insight offbyon i really enjoyed it :D
i'd imagine this in a more btd6 co-op style tbh, where you work together but with individual units, designated slots on the above ground platform
So like i said player 1 gets left half of platform and player 2 gets right half
Yea
That sounds interesting for sure
But if you get unlucky with tower placements it's not fun
Imagine one player gets 3 towers and the other gets twelve?
Aside from the fact that you have almost no control over the defense, if you split cash halfway, it's going to make this pretty rough, don't you think?
Plus I'm wondering how the platform layers would work. Do you get to buy one once you've filled your side of the platform? (for the buildings)
It would probably work, I'm just really wondering about the logistics of it all
I would say that cooperative interaction is more interesting than duel for me.
The idea of two players operating on the same platform is interesting.
But there are a lot of problems to think about. At least what @wooden stratus wrote about.
Perhaps this mode requires a special platform and slightly modified game mechanics.
In my opinion, cooperative interaction should be such that the players should somehow interact with each other. And this should be a very important aspect. I.e. it shouldn't be the same game where just 2 players control everything instead of one.
