I know as an 11thie I'm not supposed to waste my time on topics like these rn but this topic just haunts me every second of the day.
If I want to go into research is it better for me to do btech or bsc

My father keeps pushing me towards btech saying it's only 1 year more than the bsc course and that bsc has 0 market value. My dad has done a bsc and he said he had trouble finding jobs, but i feel like that's only because bsc is meant for studying science as, well, science, and is not meant to put you into the "corporate" workforce like cs does.

See, the reality is that the colleges that offer Bachelor of Science degree and are good are far and few apart. ISER is being the exception to the rule and ISU obviously, tum dekho tumko kya karna hai life mein aage, and the whole research thing is if you are 100% sure of it tabhi usme jao because it is a long, long, long path, you know, it's like a fixed path. If you do engineering or something else, you can always branch out to anything else. But if you can't get into the research line, that's the only way.

Broadly speaking, BSc is pure sciences (theory heavy) whereas BTech is applied (application heavy)

#

Market conditions prefer Btech but you be you. Choose what you would like to go for

#

And BSc is not enough these days (at least in our country), so it is a long haul
