Yeah..i think the q says that you've to ignore the self inductance of the ring, created due to the current that'll be induced in it
only consider the flux through the ring because of the solenoid
why not the flux which causes back emf in the solenoid
the -Ldi/dt term? i dont think you can ignore that... like to get the current through the solenoid you have to ignore the ring ka L... then you get an lr circuit - solenoid ka L and ring ka r. then you can find out the flyx thru the ring.. here we ignore the self inductance of the ring.
