I followed the same process but how can length of tube change ??

the height of the mercury from the ground only depends on pressure & not angle, so even when the tube is tilted the mercury will retain the same h from ground level

in order for that to hold true, the length of the gas column has to adjust accordingly at different angles

This is not barometric, rather a pellet of mercury.

The effective length (or vertical projection) of the pellet changes, hence the pressure inside changes and hence the volume changes too.

The difference in pressure in liquid is rhogvertical length and not the component of g
