i assumed two functions y1 = Asin(wt+phi1) and similarly y2

y1=A= A sinphi1 , this gives phi1= pi/2

similarly phi2 can be 7pi/6 or 11pi/6
since velocities are opposite and that of y1 is +ve , vel of y2 must be -ve so phi2= 7pi/6

now we have complete functions of y1 nd y2 . equate them

edit: i have solved this but looking for better ways to approach this problem
i just did some tiny error in taking initial phase

boils down to this
x= wt = 2pi/T * t

@gaunt iris

#

oh no

T/6

#

yea

gaunt iris

can u share your working

how did u get the eqns

proven nymph

bhai

#

yahi fault ki tune

gaunt iris
#

wait no

proven nymph
#

like the distance covered by both in a particular time interval barabar honge

#

kyunki dono ka W same hai

#

and jab wo meet karenge then they'll be symmetric about any axis of the phasor

gaunt iris
#

ok so basically first particle x= Asin(pi/2) pe tha , it moved theta so now it is at x= Asin(pi/2+theta)

for the second it was initially at x= Asin(-pi/6) now it moved theta x= Asin(theta-pi/6)

proven nymph
#

exactly

#

and jus calculate the theta where they'll meet

#

and usse time nikal lo

gaunt iris
#

apart from the question what if the second particle moved theta in anticlockwise direction

#

x=Asin(-theta-pi/6)

proven nymph
#

since it is periodic

#

they'll not give two answers mind you

#

always go for the minimum time

gaunt iris
#

about writing x coord for any random particle

#

if its anticlockwise its -theta

proven nymph
#

yes

#

sahi hai

gaunt iris
proven nymph

see -ve positive tu apne aap maan skta hai

its moving anticlockwise

talking bout particle at B

B point dekh

gaunt iris

its moving towards A right

proven nymph
proven nymph

SHM mein they're moving towards each other

but phasor mein to same direction mein hi chalenge na

#

W same hai dono ka

🤕

gaunt iris

aise hi toh hai velocities

proven nymph

you don't understand phasors ig

dekh

go wo horizontal line hai na

lemme write it for you

particle ki projection horizontal pe banao
maybe ek or problem ho ki tujhe verticle phasor sikhaya ho

#

mai to horizontal wala krta hu
both are the same tho

gaunt iris
#

thoda sa ganda fig hai but i hope u get the idea

proven nymph
# gaunt iris

yeah i got it
but you didn't understand
sawaal mein same W likha hai na
tune ulta kardiya W
now B ka W is opposite of A ka W

gaunt iris

OHHHHHH

makes sense now
