the ppl in balatro discord said i should put this here

shadow card, a distorted huge ace of spades would sometimes cover the side panel. this was in singleplayer. he had no other mods installed. purely graphical.

this was my friends stream so i cant answer specific questions

Its possible this is a Steamodded issue, I would be very surprised if it was a multiplayer issue

it's usually an issue of a mod destroying a card incorrectly

i haven't seen smods by itself create ghost cards

would be good to know what other mods were in play

just blown up and distorted to the left
