see you there!!!
love how you can reply this in all of the threads
i'm so excited
yoooooooo ill be at this one!
👀
omg i've been looking for ppl who r also going! whoooo
welcome to the club!! i'll be handing out bracelets so make sure to grab one!
oh man i cant wait!! i'll remind myself to make a bunch too 🫶🕺
theme for the theme girlies
hello @river heath
what do you need help with?
so the train you'll get will be into one of the main london stations (paddington, waterloo, st pancras maybe?) and then the best way to navigate london is using the tube
ye into Paddington is best from Oxford
so i'd look up tube routes from paddington to brixton
ye it's about half an hour both ways
that should also give you an approx time (which you should add plenty of wiggle room into)
yeah so just decide what time you want to be queueing from and work backwards to work out what time to get your initial train :)
no i mean the train back
i'm probably gonna spend most of the day in london bc i can
can you get an open return? it might be a little more expensive but saves the stress of having to get back for a specific train after the show
i could but GWR has OXF <-> London Paddington for £5
and a £10 return to London is NICE.
yeah girl get that
so i assume you are starting to see my predicament
so now the question is which one
bc i don't want to have to leave midshow and i want a bit of wiggle room after
i think that's up to you to decide! i'd personally check average concert length, then add walk to tube, add how long the tube takes (with at least 15 minutes extra bc late night trains don't run so often) and see where you end up
there's also an 00:31 on the 20th but it gets in at 2am so no.
the show is at 19:30 yes?
i have it at 19:00 on my calendar
ye you right
average show length is 1h45m
i need help doing math
@river heath i think of this bunch the 22:28 is probably my best bet does that sound right?
i ain't the girlie for that
i'm not being responsible for your train time booking haha
fair enough
ik you're not responsible but you have been in the uk for longer than me
yeah i've given you all the information i can! just beware of possible delays and the fact that late night tubes are less frequent
show 01:45
travel 01:00 (32m Tube + 7m venue-Tube + 21m wiggle room)
= 21:45
ye i don't want to be screwed by delays and i want to make clear that i am the only person responsible for my train happenings
it's more of a "did-ember-do-anything-really-stupid" question i think
all looks fairly reasonable to me
- it looks like Tubes go on the Victoria line every three or four minutes
did you check the night tube? it's sometimes different
idk if this is right but if it is it works
yeah seems good then
ty scrappy :)
22:18 it is then.
||i'm worried i sounded demanding but it doesn't sound like it just double checking||
it makes sense to check i just don't want to be held accountable for any mistakes hahaha i'm stressing enough about my own travel
it all looks okay from my end
no no all mistakes are my own
this is the "did i do anything really effing stupid" check
again thank you so much i appreciate you scrappy
@valid oasis dunno if you've used it before or have been around London, but the app Citymapper is very useful! It's a navigation app geared towards public transport and unmotorised vehicles. What's good about it is it gets live updates from tfl to let you know about disruptions on tube, bus routes, where congestion is etc.
Really handy, use it pretty much everytime I travel to a major city
yes!! LOVE citymapper altho it isn’t very useful in oxford tbh bc i can just walk everywhere
i decided to book the 22:18 back to Oxford — just a faster train. so as long as i leave the venue by like 21:30 i’ll be fine
i don’t think i can be on theme
It's literally fine, just an option for folks who want to 😊
Also Danii and I will be giving out bracelets and many of mine use pearl beads!
i probably will not be wearing anything on theme either
I’ve got bracelets and pearl face gems if anyone wants them🥰
people going when are yall gonna try to arrive for barricade?
hi, I've got a ticket for Wednesday but was originally supposed to go with somebody who changed their mind, is anyone else looking for people to go with?
Hi guys!! Very last minute decision made to come on Wednesday, I've only been listening to the group for a couple months but love them!! What's the theme and how do you know this??
The theme is pearls it’s on their Instagram xx
Ahh thank you!!
you will make friends in the queue i promise!!
the above was also for you haha
ahh cute lol thanks
Haha thank you I hope so!!
if either of you are anywhere near me in the queue i will give you bracelets!
@river heath how have you found the queues at the other shows?
The queue is usually very visible, if you're lost venue staff can direct you
ok. i’m just internally panicking about transit
because i have class the next morning and i don’t see a world where i get back before 2am to oxford unless i crash at whatever y’all are doing overnight and my train is for 22:20 and i need to calm the fuck down
*externally
tbh there’s a part of me that wants to just sell my ticket and skip the hassle
but i know that’s my internal stupidity
i forgot that busses exist
Aww that would be so cool!!
What time do people usually queue for barricade?
take the oxford tube! it's relatively easy to get to/from victoria from brixton and then you might be able to get some sleep on the coach
ye i forgot the oxford tube existed when i was having my panic moment
anyone know whether it's doors at 7 or starting at 7?
Previous UK shows have said doors at 7
see #💭・general message
definitely doors at 7. the band won't be on until 9ish
Does anyone in London want to meet up before the show tomorrow? My train gets into Paddington at 11
(Road trip gang, looking at you?)
augh i wish but i hv classes until 5 🫡 still hope to run into u all there!
I’d love to!
okay when are the barrier people going to go try and barrier? i don’t really know when to show up lol
I'm getting out of class in Islington at 6 then getting the tube to Brixton if you wanna hang out for a bit :)
(i don't know where islington is)
oh hey im coming from Islington too
i get out at 5
I'll be getting there at around quarter past 6 if anyone wants to line up together or something
madd okay cool :)
me neither I've just been told I have to be there lol
Anyone know if they have a coatroom or something?
is it ok if i dm and ask where specifically? bcus Islington is a larger borough w many smaller areas. i'd love to be able to meet n travel w some ppl if thats alright
yes but they may charge a small fee per item and be ready for the line to be long
yeah ofc :)
Doors are at 7pm, so there may not be anyone there
I'm used to queuing so early for concerts
I’m planning to start queuing at or around half five
Woah I probs won’t get there until like 7:30 lol I can’t stand up that long
i’m making my way from Borough (near the Shard)
ETA to Brixton is 16:34 but I’ll have to eat something before the show
@reef pier Arriving at Brixton Underground stop. In a black puffer monogrammed “EN”
probably just going to go to nando’s lol
looking for the start of the queue lol
is anyone still at nandos or is everyone queueing alrdy?
hi hi me n one person r here now! r ppl in nandos?
I'm on the bus there right now but just came back from work so might get a bite to eat
the queue is round the back of the building and a lot of people are queueing
tysm for this bcus we almost just kept wandering around
thinking no one was q-ing yet
east side of the building
yupyup we're in the q now
there are a bunch of buses, two of which is labelled 109
oh yup i can see it
I’m in the queue!
nice!! let us know when you get in we can get you close to barricade if you’re up for it!
yessss thanks!!
