#Azahar taking up more data than intended?
66 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
the "old" log contains all the info
This can be correct depending on how many games, updates, and DLC you have installed
but i suspect you already have quiet a few games installed and they are all counted
my games for example already amount to around 200 GB
(reality is 100GB or a bit more tho)
and your user or appdata folder of azahar?
Yes, but that's not installed games, installed games refers to .cia
Mods also take up space too, system files does too, basically everything
i dont have any texture packs on 3ds
was just an example
point is
everything you do with azahar (system files, games installed as .cia, updates dlc and other stuff) will take up space
even the shader cache
thats not the folder i meant
go to appdata/roaming/azahar and look at those properties
oh wait that is it
nvmd
do you have set up an user folder next to azahar?
since that looks awfully small
i usually have it inside my emu folder in my documents
is next to azahar.exe a User folder or not?
as in this?
yeah
doesnt look like it
weird
i used to have an older version of azahar but then updated to a new one
can you send the other log
the "old" one
i think i installed the msys2 version accidentally in the emu folder and then deleted it since it didnt seem right

i had it deleted and then brought it back from the recycling bin
just send the entire log as is
a snippet is never really useful
then you only started the emulator
hmm i guess it doesnt really log space stuff
maybe you have somehow multiple azahar.exes somewhere from older builds
maybe in the downloads folder and windows counts it
or its just windows being windows
i dont know if it was because i ran the msys2 version and then deleted the files from that just not properly or something
unlikely
i was told one can change as one wants between the two
but smth is quirky there
btw where can you see that window?
i wanna see what it says about mine
don't trust the value shown in the app list in settings, it is written to the registry during installation (and most probably not updated after) so it probably got corrupted somehow. What really matters is the user folder and your rom folder, and everything appears to be ok
seems like the value somehow went from MBs to GBs
it was by far the largest in size so i thought something was up
wait there is a all drives filter
brb
if you're trying to free up space you should use something like treesize as the values shown in system settings are not reliable (plus not all apps provide their size)
it will only show up there if you used the installer
that makes sense
i am the type who uses the provided zip
(i have both the installed and the zip one to do local multiplayer)
no clue then
maybe windows sums up all installations?
so it adds up over time
thanks for the help folks
i'm not saying the zip version counts in my screenshot, i'm 100% confident that only the installer can register an app there
in this case a number shift (like a missed zero) sounds very likely
yeah i understood that
all i am saying is that maybe windows counts every installation seperately and doesnt register that it overwrites another one
that could explain the absurd number
maybe
i have no idea in this case, i don't think the number adds up since i keep installing and installing the new version (to the same location ok,but still)
some apps do show as twice when installed two times, but azahar never did that
windows has an internal ID that should not change to prevent this, even if you choose to install to a different location
i don't know, you can just put your whole drive
