Does azahar windows support pretendo setup?

My friend and I both have 3ds consoles and are in the process of trying to play New Leaf on azahar. He is using a AYN Thor and I am on my windows PC.

I have done the setup for both and transferred the respective system files using the setup tool. I installed nimbus 2.0.2 on both machines and made sure to transfer the luma folder on each 3ds to the emulators sdmc file.

We have both configured our PNIDs and added each other in the friends list, but on my windows PC, i am not able to successfully open my town's gate in-game, but he can open his town gate on his AYN Thor device.

On windows, it throws the error right after it searches for an internet connect, seemingly succeeds at that, and then right before the gate opening animation I get error code 018-0201. I can also see his town show up in the list of towns to visit when he opens his town gate, but get the same 018-0201 error when actually attempting to go there.

I did identical setups on both devices and followed all of the same steps, is there something I am missing on windows or is it just not supported. I couldn't find any information about this after searching the pretendo forums and this discord server all day.

NOTE: we are on the same wifi connection and i have tried the stable release of azahar and the latest beta on github. AND I am 100% sure the plugin is being loaded when starting the game.

here is a screen recording of it happening, It's just strange to me that it is able to get past the internet connection check, because it wouldn't get past this if pretendo wasnt enabled on the emulator. So I do know the plugin is seemingly being loaded and working to some degree.

I have completely reinstalled azahar and tried the system file setup tool again, this didnt fix anything.

I have tried launching the game from both the emulated home screen and directly from azahar.

I have tried using the latest vapecord version, i've tried using nimbus standalone as well and i've tried getting it from both UU and github.

I've tried linking my PNID, and NOT linking my PNID. Nothing I have tried so far resolves error code 018-0201

018-0201 apparently means "NAT check failed".

Are you using the built-in windows firewall or another security program? If so, try disabling the firewall temporarily or setting a rule allowing all traffic for azahar.exe

I have tried allowing it through the firewall. I will have to try disabling the firewall later, that could work. Right now i've temporarily given up trying to find a fix for windows and am just going to test it on linux. I did see some people have more luck with linux over windows.

that would make sense though considering the AYN Thor doesnt have a built in firewall and it was able to connect with no problems
