#Increased/unlocked FPS, or at least a way to not slow down my cursor's framerate.

When I have the game selected, it makes my mouse cursor operate at the game's locked 60 FPS. On top of just wanting the game to run at whatever FPS I'd like, just freeing the cursor from the game's FPS would be a win.

The game runs at whatever FPS I want. Even seen some people get up to 160 fps
Unless it was patched out, it is possible

Could you elaborate? Would love to know how to unlock the FPS.

It was just automatic for me when I had a monitor that was 144 Hz. Like I said, it could've been considered a bug and patched out for the time being

I'm on 144hz and it definitely limits me to 60 at the moment. More than willing to hear any workarounds anyone has.

My game only runs at 60fps, which is a shame since it would be cool to get 100+, not a big issue tho 😄

60 FPS isn't enough anymore, period.

#

Especially for a game that isn't graphics intensive.

I don't really understand the mouse being 60fps? 😄 are you running the game in fullscreen or something?

reef token
#

im running in window and I don't notice any difference in my mouse despite being at 60 fps

ripe burrow
#

do you have a 144hz monitor?

click your game window. move your mouse around. then tab to discord. click it. move your mouse around. is there a visible difference?

reef token
#

nope

#

maybe im blind? 😄

ripe burrow
#

well that does give me diagnostic information

reef token
#

but it feels exactly same ingame, in windows, in discord

ripe burrow
#

it feels horrible after I click into the game

reef token
#

that seems like something else problem then :S

ripe burrow
#

if you're running at 180 i'd hope you could notice the difference, that's higher than I even have access to

#

correct

reef token
#

do you have different cursor in game btw?

ripe burrow
#

which is fine, I'm just trying to solve the problem

reef token
#

because I don't

ripe burrow
#

I do not

#

I remember games having a "hardware cursor" option

#

and idk if that's a potential solution here

reef token
#

only thing that comes to mind is that windwos 11 have all sorts of game mode crap

#

I think I have disabled everything on my end

ripe burrow
#

I mean, sure, I can try it

reef token
#

like if something hijacks the game session and locks your cursor in that instance locking it to 60 fps, instead it being just normal windows cursor or something

ripe burrow
#

thats sort of the feel I get

#

cause it fixes itself when I click any window outside the game

reef token
#

i hate windows 11 😄 took so long just to get it stripped of all the bs 😄

ripe burrow
#

no luck after disabling steam overlay

reef token
#

do you have winaero? nifty tool to toggle windows features on/off

#

could try that and disable anything that seem to have something to do with games

#

did some googling, do you perhaps have enhance pointer precision on in mouse settings in windows?

#

Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Mouse → Additional mouse settings → Pointer Options
→ disable Enhance pointer precision

#

google said "This is Windows mouse acceleration and can make in-game movement feel inconsistent in some titles (especially windowed)."

  1. Disable Xbox Game Bar + Captures

Windows can inject extra frame latency here.

Go to:

Settings → Gaming → Xbox Game Bar → Off
Settings → Gaming → Captures → Off everything
especially disable Record what happened

Background capture can absolutely make windowed input feel worse.

#
  1. Disable Fullscreen Optimizations for the game EXE

This is one of the biggest causes.

Find the game .exe → right click → Properties → Compatibility

Enable:

Disable fullscreen optimizations

Also click Change high DPI settings and enable:

Override high DPI scaling behavior
set to Application

This often fixes bad mouse feel in windowed/borderless games immediately.

#

few of the suggestions

#

and

#
  1. Enable / verify VRR for windowed games

Windows 11 can mess this up.

Go to:

Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Default graphics settings

Try:

Optimizations for windowed games → ON
Variable refresh rate → ON

I'll walk through these just in case but I'm not hopeful

Thanks for the suggestions
