Hello steam release version had bug that could cause this issue in some cases

The bug should be fixed as on 0.308.1

Clearing the local save from device (simplest way - reinstall the game) should help

nope, your cloud save should be fine
If you're worried you can dm me with your playerID or email - I will verify that for you

@tired dune Hmm I uninstalled on Steam and reinstalled and still have the same thing, just says Could not connect. There a certain way I have to uninstall?

I deleted the appdata evitania folder and at least then it gives me the option to try to login with email. It still doesn't work, but at least it doesn't try to automatically load the local save

It works on mobile btw, just can't login or play on steam

so you're entering email/pwd and getting 'retry' button?
Can I have your playerID?

For me I don't even get that far. Soon as the game loads I get that above screen that says Could not connect
