#⚠ Economy Update: Gems & Upgrades ⚠
52 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
You'll have already accounted for this I'm sure but until the prices get changed - you'll probably see people responding to the gem changes as making things more expensive: Eg more p2w
You've communicated the intention, which is the important thing, and as long as the changes don't get delayed you'll do fine
is there any compensation for players who already bought the upgrade if the price is changed? (sorry for bad english)
I want to ask similar to above question, but if new player will have better accumulative start than we did, there will be possibility if (for example) we have at least 20level we can recieve difference between old and new system?(One time ofc)
I don't agree with the compensation thing it's an overall good thing that the prices are dropping and the upgrades are costing less the creator is working tirelessly to update the game and p2w player's used the system to do it of their own choice compensation is just to greedy
I am not saying anything about upgrades or someone who bought something. I say about start everyone would get, I don't even think clearly about just gems, it could be idk event currency, even a little so it'll speed up farming process for examply by one day. It's not much.
In the other hand, why creating new character would be more "gem wisely" to create than farming still on old one?
(edit: my comment is mostly based on first week rewards{if they will be changed}, I am not talking bout dailies, also it's just an idea, I won't cry or stop playing because of that ahah)
The price change sucks personal but understandable and fair but would it be fair to ask for a unique cosmetic weapon for all players playing before the price change if they wasted any amount of money I just like legacy items even if it doesn't give me a leg up on other players but I like shiny gears or an exclusive pet skin again no stats just cosmetic
Yeah like a trophy that could sit in and inventory slot forever
We understand you don't want nothing. I believe the system is good (without compensation), but all depends on the numbers honestly.
I was thinking how hard would it be if we, more active players could "collect" some discounts, for example 20k x source from monster, or special ore to get 10% discount on gem upgrades? It would be available to everyone. There just should be reminder for new players to be aware that mining here would provide bonus to gem upgrades but it won't affect game progress (or smth)
Or for every day active there would be gem discount like in hunter it is, maybe 1/2% daily, we should calculate it. As I counted for just Act 2 it would take~~255 days daily login and doing dailies?
You do have to remember that this game is free to play, discounts aren't really gonna be a thing because the entire games life right now is on microtransactions only since there's no ads. It's why I'm not surprised that the prices went higher, although them doubling it is pushing it way too hard and may screw them over in the long haul and their income is probably going to get reduced by a lot, but pricing seems to be a huge issue for the devs (for example, skins being $40 CAD is putting overwatch to shame lol) but we'll have to see how it goes. This is supposed to be an update to help f2p, even though so far the future update message doesn't give us anything specific so God knows what that means
Yoi really think 6 gems per daily login streak (lets say minimum 5 minute of activity) would destroy economy? I think it could bring more people to play more often - seeing more often skins/upgrades you are more likely to buy them than not seeing them for a month until update
Hey guys, I think I didn’t explain it very clearly 😅
Once the final version of the changes is ready, I’ll write everything out — and I think you’ll see that I’m not actually reducing anything or making donations more expensive.
💡 The real idea behind the rebalance:
Right now, F2P players doing dailies are earning the equivalent of about $0.25 per day (assuming $1 = 120 gems).
➡️ After the rebalance, F2P players will be getting around $1 per day in gem value!
That’s 4x more than what they currently get.
🎯 I’m just trying to narrow the gap between paying and F2P players —
not to punish anyone, but to make the game more fair and sustainable for everyone 🙌
That's fair honestly
So 1$- 60gems after update and we get 60 gems daily in shortcut
But when we talk about gems you could add smth like 30minutes being online in game -2 gems(and its collected one time daily? It will add up to 60 gems in 30 days, and that would be 'active bonus'
Or something like streak
For example 7 days in row would give 10 gems
And you think 255 days for act 2 upgrades by daily is fair? I mean until there is no act 3 it would work, but we shouldn't leave so much gap to work on upgrades later (that's my thoughts)
Because if we even round up and act 2 costs 4times more, and I believe act 3 would get expotentional it would add up to 60k gems~~
It would be in the cosmetic inventory no space taken like wings or character skin
Boss man you get it done and we shall see either way can't slow the players that want to spend
Hey, will be any compensation for those who will "lose" some gems for already having the buffed upgrades?
And where exactly are you losing out?
You were buying gem packs where each gem was twice as cheap, but at the same time, upgrades were twice as expensive.
Now, after the patch:
Upgrades are twice as cheap, and gems are twice as expensive.
I think it’s fair and reasonable — don’t you agree?
I initially instinctively thought I was "losing" since I have all upgrades maxed, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense. The only ones getting an advantage from this is people who didn't get the upgrades and are holding a lot of gems - but I doubt that applies to many (or any) people. It's a boost to F2P going forward which I agree with
I am fine with it but I'd still like a new title or at least be able to change the title or an exclusive gear or cosmetic
We need to include a clear notice in tomorrow’s patch so that players who aren’t on Discord also understand what’s happening. This update will go live on June 11.
We’re planning to rework the bottom menu (so that it includes skills you can actively tap).
Because of that, I’m not entirely sure what this tooltip will look like in the future.
So a complete rework sounds nice on the menu bar and would like those skills will the auto feature still be available
Brother you could have flashing neon signs and someone will still miss it
im a bit confused how your goal is to make the gap between f2p and payers smaller, yet this event adds exclusive paid items, while the others didnt have those, you say one thing and do another 🤷
i do agree there seems to be a disconnect there
previously f2p could get the special items (pet and belt). f2p still gets the crit boots which is nice, but no chance at getting the belt
not really sure how i feel about p2w exclusive items, especially while there's ongoing signaling that the game is being made more f2p friendly
I agree to an extent but it's more friendly not closed completely
One aspect is more friendly, the events, and importantly event items, have become completely unattainable for f2ps
I agree they could put it in the reward list and still give the item to the paying players
We added a belt that has similar stats to the anniversary item.
In this event, you can get the slippers.
In the next event, for example, we might make gloves available for free, while the slipper equivalent could be a paid item.
I want to reward players who stick with us and don’t skip events.
The idea is — over the course of a year, a player can collect a full set just by participating in all the events.
That’s why I don’t see it as deviating from my original plan😊
I understand that the truly fair thing would’ve been to include the belt as a reward.
But:
- Would that really be fair to the players who’ve been with the game for a long time? I want them to feel unique. I’m genuinely grateful to all of you who’ve stuck around this long.
- And of course, I need to use some small tricks to encourage new players to make a purchase 😊
To be honest with you — right now, skins make up the smallest part of our income…Even though we were really counting on them. I’m really hoping that once players can see each other in the world, it’ll encourage more people to buy skins and flex a little — and that’ll help turn the situation around.
That will definitely help
It's like I am cuter I am more handsome
I think the problem is that for people that join late, it seems punitive that they haven't played since v.001 rather than simply rewarding old players
I just don't think alienating new players is ideal, but I do like the concept of rewarding longer term players
Either way I'd take them free gloves what glove are we talking about either way
Did I read that wrong
I swear I read free gloves
Idk I'm already heavily rewarded by having a lot of hours on the game. If a new player joins and doesn't have Anni belt, their account is genuinely so far behind with no chance of catching up
I think there's a lot of ways to reward your longterm players that isn't FOMO items
As an example, I feel terrible that I'll never catch up to imenia because he has snowy sword and winter belt, exclusively because I didn't know the game existed a month earlier
Anniversary stuff can get upgraded yearly specific holiday events are specific events many games do have it this way possible to be changed but up to the GMs
