The newest development in my Bitwig adventure is that my MIDI Fighter Twister doesn't have bidirectional control the way it does in Ableton. That is, parameter changes inside of Bitwig don't display on the controller's LEDs 😑

I downloaded @sturdy perch's script [https://github.com/Artur-Brahms/Bitwig-MidiFighterTwister-CME] but it's not working. Changes to mapped params in Bitwig aren't displaying on the controller and whenever certain controller knobs are turned all the way up, the Twister changes to a specific bank of knobs 😬

Does anybody here have any experience with this?

Twister sister works right for that matter.

Bank 1 is per track / device , bank 2-4 are the mapping

Upon further testing of @sturdy perch script, I see that the bank changes happen only when using the knobs on the top row of Bank 1 so that:

  1. Maxing out the second knob on the top row changes the bank to #2
  2. Maxing out the third knob on the top row changes the bank to #3
  3. Maxing out the fourth knob on the top row changes the bank to #4

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it out!

Though, I was really hoping for four full pages of custom mappings for four different instrument channels in my project 🫤 so hopefully I can sort out a way of controlling everything I need to be able to grip (I'll be performing the set without the computer/screen).

Actually, TwisterSister 2.0.0 isn't recognized by Bigwig Studio 4.4.8 on my Monterey 12.6.3 M1 Mac. The two extensions are in the Extensions folder and I loaded the .mfs file onto my Twister.

cme works but as the name suggest , it's only a custom mapping wrapper (ie. you have to map everything by hand/per project, it communicates both way once a control is assigned though)

I removed CME in case it was causing an issue with the TwisterSister installation, but as you can see here, there's now nothing in the menu for DJTechTools

if you loaded the .mfs from twister sister project, you need to restore factory settings on your device

CME appears to be more of what I'm looking for, I just wonder what is wrong with my system or config that's causing the errors.

Check extensions path is correct in setting > locations
Also you have to move the folder containing the js file , not only the js file , and restart bitwig

After having removed the CME script, resetting my Twister back to factory settings, restarting my computer, reinstalling the CME script, double-checking that my paths are set correctly, and trying everything again, CME is now working as expected!

I’ll try to have the two MFT work in the same extension to have a full mixing desk across 2 devices

Is there some more open / flexible firmwares for the MFT ? I add them for 12 years yet never checked.
They never bragged about the api though
