Map 'Show Plugin Window' for specific devices to hotkeys

In Bitwig it is possible to assign a hotkey for opening and closing windows via the mappings browser panel. There are even options like opening the plug-in window only as long as the hotkey is pressed.

Also, don't forget to save all changes you made to your template, so you don't have to assign the hotkey on each start of Bitwig.

This is really awesome for stuff like oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers on the master, one click of a button open both, i have them set to open on my second monitor

I also have a tool device with width at 0% so I can turn it on and off to check mono compatability

I just wish there was an extended typing keyboard with additional buttons and knobs on it. like a midi controller/typing keyboard

The custom mechanical keyboard scene might be of interest to you. You can program your keyboard however you like, and have faders and knobs on your keyboard as well

It meant to assign keys on plugins. Like opening certian plugin with ctr+w or something like that

yeah. you have to save the template to have the hotkeys for each project

nah, your project template. basically you put some plugins on the master or somewhere else and then map the hotkeys to the show plugin icon or somewhere else

Great ! I am actually studying on how to optimize my workflow with hot keys, and device like Stream Deck, Loupe Deck, Touch Portal or Metagrid. I try to figure wich one is better for my needs !

Something is not clear for me... (Bitwig Newbie😅 ) Once I have program the shortcut in the Mapping Panel (let say Ctrl + X), to what I have to link Ctrl + X in my general template settings ?

i mean both hotkeys will be triggered if you have a plugin window open command map and also another hotkey mapped to the same input

Funny... I can't check in the general template setting if keys I now use to open SPAN are free from other shortkey, because when I hit the key in the filter... it open SPAN😆 . I have to delete this mapping panel shorcut first

Very nice. Pity that Bitwig doesnt remember the window positioning of the plugins. I would love to have a shortcut that opens up my favorite analyse-Plugins on one keystroke e.g. Span, Ozone Imager, TrueBalance. But it just randomly positions the windows.

Is it possible to set not a specific plugin amongst the entire project, but choose plugin number x of selected track?

Too bad. Sometimes I insert something before the instrument (for exemple a note grid or whatever), I would have liked the defaut shortcut for device display to display the instrument, not the grid. Well, I'll do without it.
