#Inserting a new device

If you use a lot of plugins, chances are you're adding new ones to your tracks quite a lot. You can do this with the keyboard by pressing B or the Insert key with a track selected - it also selects the search bar in the browser automatically, so you can quickly search for the plugin you want, press Down Arrow to select it (or a few times if it isn't the top result), then Enter.

Note that if you have a device on the track selected, it will replace that instead. Maybe this is what you want, but if not, press T first to select the track, which has the side effect of deselecting any selected device too.

@glad ivy works for me? even if I select a track manually with the mouse it works. Are you sure keyboard isn't captured by a plugin? And what version of Bitwig are you on?

austere comet

I'd email support about it

what display profile are you using?

austere comet
#

uhhh you mean like the color profile? or how many monitors? I'm on a laptop, I don't think that would matter for keyboard input while focused anyway though

OH, I didn't even know about that lol. Let me check

glad ivy
#

also how did you do that nifty coloring around the letters? i found the way for me.

#

t to select track d to select the device panel and then b ortab to open up the device browser.

#

once in the device panel you can navigate between the devices using LEFT or RIGHT keys and use b or tab to open up a browser at that position...
but i still can't figure out how to insert a device AFTER the device thats already in there.

#

can't seem to insert between devices either. only the first device can be added.

@glad ivy same problem here, version 4.3.7. I used to add devices like mentioned in the first message but now it won't work anymore

Even before I think there was no way to insert between devices without a mouse
