#In terms of lore...why aren't the children of nobles way more powerful?

If I was say, roleplaying having my Pillar Creation character taking an apprentice, there isn't much that could stop me from pumping them full of high-tier affinity fruits, handing them high-tier artifacts, armor, a mount that can get from one end of creation to the other in a few seconds...

Nobles are richer than my Pillar Creation character.

Why aren't their kids totally undefeatable monsters, in terms of in-game logic?

cause we are heaven defying monsters

#

Our viewpoint is different

#

We are better

#

And lingxi in dual cultivation at the beginnning was a bit of an undefeatable monster xd

Is there some lore reason why a body forging noob couldn't be handed a pillar creation artifact and be sent off to annihilate stuff?

id assume a bf cultivator simply doesnt have the energy reserves to even use a pc artefact

sudden narwhal
#

that's usually the cultivation explanation, but it's kind of conspicuously missing from the story exposition

icy relic

@pulsar iron new idea for lorebook here, explain why lower realms cant use higher realm gear or something
also would torment vadym a bit xd

#

however

sudden narwhal
#

I'd like that! I feel like it's kind of a really big hole atm--I feel like I could, at PC, support a dozen body forging noobs easily

icy relic
#

Given that this game is inspired by xianxia novels i do assume that my explanation is correct

#

But its just a theory

sudden narwhal
#

I do too. I think it would enrich the game to explain it.

icy relic
#

A game theory if you will

sudden narwhal
#

It'd be cool also in its own way if you're right that we're just Built Different ™

icy relic
#

we are

#

because of the heavenly tribulation we absorbed

#

Plus we are the guaranteed next/last ascender

sudden narwhal
#

yeah. But it's kind of an extremely passive thing until you hit PC.

icy relic
#

it does not have much an impact on gameplay thats true

#

anyway if you really want a new lore book explaining this, you should go make a feature request in #1241791736880041994

#

because lyeeedar is most likely gonna say that once he shows up

sudden narwhal
#

Did so!

icy relic
#

now you just gotta wait till lyeeedar wakes up again

Because our character is the mc/robot, doesnt sleep, eat, complain if it had a backpain....etc like a normal person

#

Most of all cultivators are afraid to die, so they are super careful.
Unlike us we can reload

I'll have some new lore in the next release around this

sudden narwhal

Thank you, lyeeedar! I really appreciate your efforts.

To be fair, if you really consider it. In some ways, we are the tribulation/heaven sent power. The players are like chim in Elder Scrolls, the reloading and more or less us treating the whole journey as a game. For the NPCs, it's their life. Our character definitely does things on their own but when it matters we're like the guiding hand. At least, that's how I see it.

But yeah, on topic, I also look forward to the new lore bits.

There are sixth realm mounts already???

strange flax

If you manage to get your hands on the items to upgrade your legacy mount to sixth realm, them you can have it. You need to use save editor or like me, just edit the savegame file with note++. Takes some getting use to, so make backups.

storm oxide

oh, got it

Re: nobles that don't try - Lazy. If you knew a cultivation technique that had a 100% chance of success, would you try?

strange flax

Same as in real life, many rich people with unlimited free time are fat af despite that they have a 100% chance to be fit, hit the gym with a personal trainer 4 times a week, eat right (private chef, healty food etc), yet they just dont care.

Sentient items might rebell and kill their "owner"
In some shows/stories the items only behave because the cultivator is simply overpowering it

Common answers amongst the few Xianxia Donghua I've watched (and other Xianxia-themed games I've played):

1.) Their bodies do not have enough Qi to properly wield it. (Ant trying to wield a sword)
2.) They lack sufficient comprehension/talent to properly wield it. (An uneducated man trying to navigate an army)
3.) The artifact is sentient and will either choose its master or must be subdued by force. The former is usually a situation where you refer to someone as "Being Destined" with it. (A vagabond commanding a king)
4.) The artifact has a seal imprinted by another cultivator, thus preventing usage. (Opening a locked door without the key)
5.) The artifact only recognizes those of certain bloodlines/races. (A stranger posing as a friend)
6.) The artifact's usage comes with a heavy price, usually sacrificial souls. Tribulations can also fall under this if the artifact defies too many natural laws like in Renegade Immortal where Wang Lin tries to create ||the Restriction Flag that was used by ancient god Tu Si.||
7.) It is important for the defense of a sect/it is too precious to be used by a low level disciple/it is sustaining a crucial part of the sect's daily operations.
8.) It's hoarded by the elders. (not that strange lol)
