ok
do you have a link to the patch note?
it was on steam so idk if i can get a link but i can try
on steam its the patch note posted on Fri, October 31, 2025: optimization and handling update under known issues
Audio / Radio / Sound issues
Some players may experience missing or distorted audio. This is related to configuration data and still under investigation. You may need to do a manual config deletion: the method is on our Discord.
i understand its early access so if their is no fix right now thats ok
Issue: Audio, video, key bind settings are not working/saving.
Solution: Disable Steam Cloud saves & delete 2 local config files.
- In your Steam games list, right click DBH then click Properties.
- Toggle off "Keep Game Saves in the Steam Cloud for DBH."
- Press Windows Key + E to open File Explorer.
- Paste the path below to the address bar.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\DriveBeyondHorizons\Saved\Config\Windows - Delete GameUserSettings.ini
- Paste the path below to the address bar.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\DriveBeyondHorizons\Saved\SaveGames - Delete UserSettings.sav
- Load the game!
- If you want to re-enable Steam Cloud saves, do it after playing and exiting the game.
just got that a second ago >.<
Sorry I was just here and trying to help 🤣 can't let you have all the fun!
no worries 🙂
that didnt seem to fix the issue
Does the exhaust backfire if you have an attachment mounted to the exhaust?
yes it does super loud too lol
Okay good, that is intended. Let me test something give me a moment!
ok
doing a quick test it doesn't seem that any of the stock exhausts back fire (sound) , it seems that to get that effect you need one of the modified exhausts 🙂
when the game first game out their was a popping or crackling effect along with the blue flash
The devs are trying to also have realism as well, so a stock vehicle wouldn't have backfire on a stock exhaust.
if you look at older videos you will see
with the V8 it added a special feel too it
the bonphiac, GTR, and golf had the special vfx sfx idk what youd call it
i still kinda get it with the GTR
like i said i know its still early access
not sure if it is intentional could you do me a favour and #📦・submit-bug for me please 🙂
i did earlier today
ah ok well if so it will be looked at 😄
alright appreciate it but you see what i mean about the audio idk if you looked at some videos it was before alot of the updates
I haven't looked at videos personally but it seems it might be a bug if deleting the config didn't fix it and myself and @regal flare both did a quick test and got the same result as you, with submitting a bug report it means the Dev team can have a look

Please add the track from the main theme to Yandex Music. It's absolutely amazing.
