Gems are kinda useless right now (At a point where you have the meta/crazy units like Gojo, Sukuna, One Piece, Broly, etc.). Some updates add little banner units and shift more towards gamemode-based units (Doffy, Old guy WB, Shanks) and most updates add no gem-banner units at all and switch to seasonal/occasion banners (Updates: 7.5, 9.0, 9.5, 10.5). A good way to bring back the banner is by rotating the secrets (Alucard's position), similar to how rifts were (WERE as shanks has been in for over a month now without change), and revitalize popular unit suggestions that made it in to the final Anni Vote (Kokushibo, Kurumi, unnamed marine, Yoriichi). I don't believe this suggestion will go far since Alucard is now a vanguard rarity, but I'll still try.

This is my exact problem with gems as a whole, you only need like 20k to get all the units from an update if Ur lucky, and from that point U no longer need gems and no incentive to farm for more
Most stages don't give gems or give very little, so you can't collect gems over time, unless you're specifically farming for gems(which no one does) there aren't that many way to get gems
And they're adding a gem banner pity, how are we supposed to get said gems

true, but they dont use up gems at ALL
there is ZERO incentive to farm gems for anything, or at least used to be none now that alucard is getting a tera buff

Most people simply don't care about gem banner shinies at all
People literally sell shinies for rrs, that can tell you how people view the gem banner
And now with update, we got like 5 units(one super duper ultra rare) that each might need 20k gems
That's 100k gems plus like 25k summons for alo
And most people do not farm gems at all
