My argument is that “must bans” are a much more concrete concept in a game like this where you are dealing with stat blocks and a modicum of game knowledge and not much else beyond that. The most impactful thing is just the stat block itself. In a lot of other competitive games, like League’s example, there’s a lot more nuance to how oppressive a ban is to you. Do you just not like going against that character? Do you know someone on the enemy time is a one trick and can target ban them as often happens in high elo games?
